Where do you set this feeder? I have no way to hang to,can I just set in on a patio table?

California girl -- YES, YES, YES, you CAN set it on a flat surface.  NO you DON'T HAVE TO HANG a hummingbird feeder.    Yes, it is a good idea for the feeder to be red or have something red nearby that will initially attract hummers' attention.IN FACT, you can set out a small flat container - like a lid -- that contains sugar water nectar and the hummers will feed from it. You do NOT have to have the little fake flowers.  I've seen hummers land on a person's upturned hand that has a little puddle of nectar water cupped in the palm and eat from the puddle of nectar.   I've seen hummers eat from a shallow plate filled with nectar water where the plate was sitting on a patio table.   Go to Youtube and look at some of the videos of people feeding hummers.

Question 2

My Perky Pet  feeder has to have the bee guards on to keep the honeybees and yellow jackets away.  Does this one keep away bees and wasps?

For the ant problem - my ant moats dry up too quickly in AZ sun, so have the tiniest (but oh so nasty) ants that always find my feeders despite the type/ strength of nectar (I buy nectar that immitate actual flowers- Hummingbird Market sells it here too) BUT when I hang feeders on shepard hooks (only), I've had complete success wiping down the BOTTOM of the hook (far from feeder) with Vicks Menthol Chest Rub.  I suppose any type of menthol essential oil would also work just as well, as ants HATE the smell.  Hummers/ birds in general can't smell, but I'm sure it would do a job on their eyes watering - but applied at the bottom of the pole solves that issue... the vaseline part of it also has then avoiding it at all costs as well too (they get stuck, if they dare).  Found this easy fix trying to mow lawn when monsoon/ mosquito season hits & they avoid you like the plague as well. Weird, but easy enough & suppose it makes sense too.  Just be careful to keep it as far away from feeders as much as possible....

Question 3

The hummers love his feeder, but now I do have ants all over it.  Can someone please tell me where the ant moat is?

What I use for ants is  Perky-Pet 245L Ant Guard for Bird Feeders-Single This ant guard does not use water which is a real pain.Since I started using them I have not seen one ant anywhere near the feeders. They are available on Amazon.

I know the feeder piece is plastic but is the nectar container glass or plastic?

It's plastic.

You can buy the First Nature Wally World exclusive with the 16 ounce bottle, and that cylinder shaped bottle will fit perfectly on this feeder.  The Wally World First Nature exclusives are cheap to buy...$3.67 right now.  Just posting this because some people might like the cylinder shaped bottle on the flower base feeder lid.
