I enjoyed reading this after watching the anime and also learning Japanese at the same time. I started learning Japanese so this will be very helpful.

The best anime I've seen so far. I'm relatively new to anime, I've only been watching for about 3-4 years. This anime, Blue Spring Ride, NANA, Kimi ni Todoke, Black Butler, Wolf Girl and Black Prince, and Princess Jellyfish, Say I Love you, Lovely Complex are my favorites. So if you like any of these you'll love this!It's about a pretty girl (though she doesn't realize) who meets a boy named Arata in middle school who changes her. He introduces her to this old Japanese card game that people play competively. Up until then her only goal was for her sister to be the top model in Japan, now she wants to be "Queen" the top female Karuta player in the world. Soon Arata has to move away but Chihaya sees Karuta as a bond between them that will last forever. Will they meet again?Actually there's so much to this anime! Romance, suspense, comedy, very touching, love triangle, it's all here and so wonderfully written! The characters are very deep. You can watch this on Crunchyroll for free. Just be careful when you go to watch it that you click on season 1 and then scroll down. For some reason it keeps defaulting to season 2 and you'll miss out on alot of backgroung on the top 3 characters. Please give it a chance, I'm hoping if the popularity continues in America they'll publish the rest of the manga into English. So far only 2 issues are translated and I'm dying to know what's going on since the manga is still on going.

This is really lovely. The paper stock feels so nice and good quality. The artwork and cover are beautiful and simple. Translations are good as well; no unexpectedly odd grammatical errors.

カルタについて知らないことが多くて、とても勉強になりました。主人公の女の子の共感が持てます。バイリンガル版だからなのでしょうが、英語のセリフの吹き出しだけを見ていると誰のセリフかわからないことがあります（英語だと、男女の話し方にあまり違いがないせいでしょう）。そんなとき、日本語訳を参照して、「あ、これは女の子の言い方だから、この子のセリフだ」「これは男の子の言い方だからこの子のセリフ」というように区別していました。大人のA reputation to upholdとか関係ない純粋な3人の小学生の子供たちとその後になぜかとてもぐっときて、読み終えた後、よい時間だったと思えました。
