Great control valve, once I figured out how to install it
Got this control valve for my 1984 John Deere 1050 tractor. It works like a champ, but I had to figure out how to install it completely on my own. No instructions were provided, and the company’s (Chinese) customer service was pretty much nonexistent. My valve did not look exactly like the photo. It had 5 in/out ports on the sides and face along with the four hydraulic ports on the face. Three on the left and two on the right. The inlet ports were on the right side of the valve. These ports line up and allow for different installation angles. The outlet ports are on the left. Again the two that line up allow for different installation angles. My tractor has a three-point hitch, which requires the valve’s power beyond option. This is where things got tricky. The bottom left hand port had another smaller port on the internal portion of the valve body. After some research I learned that this smaller port needed to be plugged in order for the power beyond option/three-point hitch valve to work properly. I got a plug from the hardware store, installed it, hooked everything up, and viola everything is working like a champ.

No directions
Good controller for the money. Nothing is labeled so it’s trial and error. Works fine though. On mine the feed is the lower side input, return is opposite side, and they work top/bottom… not side by side on my loader hope this helps the next guy.

Bad tap and fittings are not BSPP
Took a bit but the valve is now working. It’s not like what’s in the picture and there are absolutely no documents or instructions included. Just the valve control in a plastic bag inside of a box. Had to run to a hydraulic supply shop and get correct fittings. One of the ports was tapped bad and I had to work the fitting in and out until it seated enough. Didn’t like that because it made some metal shavings but I cleaned those out the best I could. If it doesn’t last I’m sending it back.

Quality
This control valve works with no issues. It did not come with instructions, but was easy to figure out.

Not as advertised
I thought I would try this out because it was so cheap, thinking I could make it work.First, several things were not as advertised. The A & B ports are not 3/8", they are 1/2". Also, all the ports on the top of the unit will not accept fittings with BSPP threads. Even though the supplied plugs screw in, other fittings will not- I suspect very poor quality control. I had to try 1/2 tapered thread.Second, an answer to customer inquiry says it had power beyond function. It does not- I tried with and without a plug in the small hole inside the N port. The clincher for me was the fact that when attempting to simultaneously raising the boom and curling the bucket up (a common operation when scooping up a pile of stuff), the boom drops. Quickly.Simply not a functional loader valve.

John deere fittings don't work.
Replace the hydraulic spool valve on a woods, the woods JIC to a john deere fitting, made 4 new hydraulic lines , JIC to pipe thread.Would be a little nicer if the spool was marked or had some kind of print with the damn thing.
