Discontinued at the local store where I always bought this, Amazon once again came to the rescue.I much prefer this oatmeal to Quaker. It’s easy to prepare on busy mornings. Love the maple flavor!

I've tried many brands of steel cut oats, but none have the old-fashioned authentic flavor like McCann's, in my opinion. Although it takes a long time to gently cook until thickened, it's worth every minute because it ends up with a chewy texture instead of mushy. I cook double the amount given in the instructions and then store in zip bags in frig and it lasts all week. I eat a bowlful almost every morning with sliced bananas and/or blueberries topped with walnuts and then pour a little maple syrup on the top to sweeten, delicious (and keeps me "regular").PS- At end of week if I have any oatmeal left in the bag, I mix in an egg, little flour, peanut butter, little melted butter, tad of honey or syrup and then scoop spoonfuls onto greased baking pan and bake as cookies. It makes a great, healthy snack.

Never was an hot cereal breakfast guy. But Dr. recommened Oatmeal in the morning to combat an ulcer. I follow the cooking instructions on the can.Fast and simple preperation and no bad taste.

"McCann's Irish Oatmeal" (original) is excellent. These smaller servings of steel-cut oats in "Vanilla Honey" are to die for! Maybe too much sugar - yes, too much sugar - but the texture & flavor are just wonderful ...

None of lids were attached. Aluminum cover was intact. Apparently packing machine malfunctioned.Should store o.k.but not what it should be

I eat it every morning with raisens and walnuts. Good for me and satisfies my hunger - a double whammy!

This is my fav oatmeal, and hard to find. I like the texture and taste.

Mccann steel cut good texture, flavour. Preferred by daughter. Longest prep time, not for rushed mornings. 4:1 ratio, so good value. but after 30min, not that creamy yet. Unable ṭo compare with BRM steel cut, as it was finished a week ago.BRM scottish oats nice texture, flavour. Easy to prep, sits between steel cut n rolled oats. 3:1 ratioMccann rolled oats smooth texture, unusual but mild flavour compared to the others. Can't pinpoint the taste. 2:1, but can probably increase to 2.5:1Flahavan rolled oats very neutral n very mild flavour, can do with higher ratio of water to oats. Good for intro to oats. 2:1, but can probably increase to 2.5:1Did not taste against quakers.In conclusion, for rolled or scottish, prefer BRM Scottish for flavour, texture, same ease of prep, mildly cheaper. For steel cut, then the Mccann or ?BRM. Yr results may vary
