Good Quality from 3M

Pretty good wrap very forgiving lets you pull off and on without ripping. I wrapped my mustang roof 95% came out good but I did end up with small wrinkles (my fault) but they're small and not noticeable unless you try to look for them. Nice product overall solid gloss black color

Not a bad product

So I was doing this to repair chips on my fender flare on the bed of my pickup. I had cut out a template, and then trimmed the vinyl to match. I then laid it out to make sure it was the right size. When I was going to apply it, it took a very VERY long time. If you want a smooth surface on the vinyl and you are working with something that has any curve, be prepared to struggle with this. It does not apply so easily like the little instruction card. I would NEVER attempt to use this on a whole car, it would look like crap because you CANNOT and I mean, CANNOT get a wrinkle or little bubble free surface.Don't get me wrong, it still looked good, but since I am so AR any little bubble was a failure to me. And heating it up after, does not smooth it out, and DO NOT try to heat it while applying, it gets super thin and then sticks to itself very easily, it get about as thin as plastic wrap if you try to heat it while applying. But, for my purposes, it did a good job, the pitted paint is hidden, and the lines on the vinyl will be blackened by my polish (there is a slight white line from where you cut the vinyl, and it is very clear on a black truck)Pros: High Gloss finish looks good, parts that were flat are flawlessCons: Hard to work with if you are not on flat, top layer of clear plastic does not stay on and then causes issues with application, NOT POSSIBLE to do a wrinkle free bubble free installation on any curved surface (unless you are a professional I suppose) Limited Ikea like instructions.

Works!!! No bubbles and no peeling but used heat gun generously.

The media could not be loaded. Was my first time applying vinyl to do the chrome delete and it was not as complicated as I thought it would be, I’m not a pro but handy with good amount of patience but was surprised that it required less patience and time than I expected. It’s been 2 months since and no bubbles or “unsticking” but I followed directions.Few tips to consider if you are doing this:1. Watch some videos - search and watch a couple on how to do this.2. Clean surface well - I used soap first then cleaned surface of my chrome with alcohol pads to remove any oil/wax.3. Tools you’ll need: you don’t need whole big set of tools(I did buy every possible tool and most of it was not used). What was most useful is “credit card looking tool, sharp cutting knife/razor, gloves, tool with felt or whatever that fabric is that helps you to squeeze bubbles out and position vinyl and HEAT GUN! Please do use heat gum, I guarantee that hair blower will cause more problems wasting all your work.Applying: don’t stretch! Apply and let it stick without stretching vinyl. Once applied, cut it gently and somewhat evenly in angle going under your chrome detail, leaving few millimeters of vinyl on edges. Tuck it in with tools - make sure your car is dry though, mine was bit wet after rain and even then it’s still worked (surprisingly) but when I used heat gun it dried few spots under chrome.HEAT GUN: be gentle not to burn your vinyl or paint but go for it and give it a nice heat - I think this is what I’ve done right and probably the reason why it doesn’t peel at all, you can use gloves to tuck it in at the edges and once hot it conforms into surface on corners making it look good. Don’t be shy here!Result: instead of paying 850 as per cheapest quote I’ve gotten for chrome delete, all materials and tools (I’ve head cheap heat gun already) I spent 65 bucks and have very very nice result, couple mistakes in couple of places that barely noticeable but if you have extra vinyl, you can peel your “mistake” off and try again but this totally worth it! Took about 1.5-2 hours to do entire trim around all windows.Color of the vinyl: it is more brownish hue to it than pure black, at first I was disappointed and I also used two different brands (3M 2” vinyl tape and this vinyl for curvy trims) but depending on light and angle you can barely see “brown” and it blends in with the rest of the car well.Verdict: definitely try it! Now wonder if I can do window tint myself… hmmm. :)
