This item exceeded my expectations considering the price. The installation instructions and hardware are great, and the installation was straightforward and fairly simple. Your will need a good sharp set of chisels to mortise the latch plate. Recommended!

I purchased this unit to replace a similar unit that has been on my bathroom door for the last 20 years. The old one worked but the finish was all banged up on it. Hence during the bathroom remodel I decided to replace it. When I received the new unit I installed it and it was very difficult to lock. The locking mechanism would jam and was very stiff. It was unusable. I returned for a replacement which I received very quickly. I installed the new unit and it had the same problems. I was wondering how so many people gave this 5 stars. I thought that it was the biggest piece of junk that was ever made so I started another return. This time for a refund not a replacement. Before I sent it back I figured I would take a shot and try oiling it up. I loaded it up with WD-40 and the unit functions beautifully. Just be sure to grease up the internal parts real good before install.

Just what I ordered. Pay attention to the one you are replacing so that new one can be installed properly.

These actually turned out very nicely once installed. As some reviewers mentioned, they don't seem as well made as the original one's I had in my home. But, these did install easily and have worked well for the two months they've been in. My only tip - add some grease on the internal mechanism so that it locks easier. I had one that was very sticky, and once I did this it was much easier to use. I went back and did them all, now they're all super smooth.

It's a perfect fit for my pocket door

Pros: The lock fit perfectly on my pocket door and was extremely easy to install. The lock is solid metal and well built.Cons: The locking mechanism doesn’t stay in place like it’s supposed to; therefore, the lock engages when I close the door about 40% of the time. It’s fairly easy to unlock the door from the outside with a butter knife or by using your fingernail, but it’s extremely annoying. For such a simple mechanism, you’d think the company would want to make sure the lock works properly on their door LOCK.

I bought this because my current pocket door is being used to lock one of my cats in the back area of the house due to being bullied. My cats on the other side know how to stick their paws in between the pocket door and open it if it's not locked. Since this lock only has the turning knob on one side (the other side is like a screw that you have to take a flat object to lock it), I decided to just buy another lock and take off the side with the turning knob and put it on the other side of my current lock. Works perfectly.I was unable to find a lock like this that had the turning knobs on both sides. The color matches perfectly with what I have and I'm just quite happy now that I don't have to take a screwdriver to lock it when I'm on the other side of the door.
