This shirt is not tight, but it is "close" and "conformal"
I have four G&B shirts now. Three of the hoodie sweats in size Large, and this dress shirt in size XL. I'm 5' 10", 180 lbs, 43" chest, size 32 pants and the size XL shirt fits me OK.I ordered "navy"; the dark blue color shown in the list. The color that I received is a tad darker than what is shown but OK.The shirt isn't a tight-fit shirt since the material isn't stretchy. But I would call the fit "close" or "conformal". Basically, it is cut to fit broad shoulders and a narrow waist. The chest is snug, without the button closure puckering and I'm happy with the fit and look. Likewise, on me the shoulder seam is a half-inch shorter from missing the edge of my shoulders. On the model, a zoom-in shows that he's about 1.5 inches off (i.e. his shoulders are 1 inch broader on each side than mine). So just be aware that the shoulder seam will be further up than usual. It is snug on my biceps; basically it fits me like is shown the photo. Although the model is more defined than I am. My arms are only 15" and I ordered XL. So this shirt's sleeves probably wouldn't fit someone with better developed arms.On me the waist is close, but not tight. I should lose a couple of pounds... Regardless, I don't look fat in this shirt, it fits well. But my jeans size is 32. Someone 36 or 38 probably wouldn't fit in this shirt even in XL.I would consider this a light-weight fabric, but it isn't see-through. Good for Spring/Fall. It is dressy enough for the office, or a night out. I tuck mine in with a belt. The sleeve length is fine. I normally take a 34/35 sleeve for a relaxed fit, and this shirt's sleeves still have another inch available. So for someone around my height (5' 10") or perhaps up to 6', the sleeves will be fine. The cuff is a standard 2-button barrel cuff. On the outer button, I still can't wear my watch and I can't fasten the cuff using the inner button. My wrists are 8 inches (with the shirt on).I only gave it 4 stars because on me the arms are a little off. The flexors in my forearm are tight in this shirt. I had never measured my flexors before (the muscle that enables a fist or keeps the hand closed when holding a barbell). This muscle is 12" on me and the shirt is uncomfortably tight here. Notice that all of the photos have the model's sleeves rolled up. The point in the photo where the sleeve cuff is rolled up to is 12" on me. And I don't have super-muscular arms. In the zoom-in view of the model, you can see how tight the fabric is on him in the forearm also just before the cuff. I've washed and worn this shirt a couple of times now and the flexor forearm region is still tight.I also gave it 4 stars because there is an oddly placed seam on the back of the arms. It just seems odd. There is the regular seam on the back of the arms, and then there is this "other" seam on the back. That seam also runs across my back and connects the two arms together. So I assume it is a design element. I could do without it...Overall I'm happy with this shirt and intend to order more colors. Basically, it is sized, cut, and designed for people with body types like the model shown. I'm naturally ectomorphic, but with some definition from the gym. This shirt would fit mesomorphs fine also as long as they didn't go to the gym very often. You can see from the photo that this shirt barely fits the model shown. He really should have the next size up, but I suspect that he's wearing XL and that's the largest size...Scott

this shirt is of excellent quality. Lots of color options
Got a Large for my 5'10" boyfriend. He's 170lbs. Small to Average build. 34 pant waist. It fit.Pros: For the price, this shirt is of excellent quality. Lots of color options.Cons: It is really tight in the arms. I have no idea how the model in the picture crammed his arms into this shirt. My boyfriend is by no means "ripped" and, in addition, is not overweight. He said it felt like the seams might burst if he picked up a large box while wearing it. I told him maybe you're not suppose to be doing manual labor in it. Lol. In either case, if you are really ripped in the arms - keep the tightness in mind - you'll probably have to order up a size. Additionally, the fit is a bit awkward where the shoulders meet the chest. It's almost as though you need a large chest and small arms...

Great shirt with crippling Achilles heel
Shirt looks really good, seems to have a nice feel, and is seemingly good quality. I like the sleeve length/width, length, collar, and neck/waist circumference as it's all flattering, but there's one very significant issue - there is way too little fabric in the upper back. There is tremendous bunching behind my back, and when I raise my arms it feels like I might rip it in back.I'm pretty thin with no posture issues, too, and usually between a medium and large (this was a large). I would maybe try an XL (which I've never needed before with any brand), but I'm worried it's so out of proportion that the rest of it might be a little too big while the upper back would still be too small. As it is this is basically unwearable for me, though it's possible that someone of different proportions would fit better and have a great shirt so I gave it a 3/5 based on the rest of the factors.

Beautiful shirt but the sizes are completely off
My husband loved the shirt but it was WAY too small. I think we would probably have to get an XL when he normally wears an M. It is hard to figure this out when you can't try it on. The company is in Germany so it isn't easy to return and try another size. We got our money back but we are really bummed out that we can't try on the shirt. We were going to purchase 5 of these but waited to see if the first one fit. Fortunately we didn't get all five of them.

Great looking and great fitting
Great looking and great fitting. I am 5' 8" 165lbs and I order large and it fits great I plan on ordering an couple of more. It takes time to get it and you have to sign for the package otherwise you have to pick it up at the post office but other than that its an good looking nice fitting shirt. Will it look great after I have washed it an few times? I will update if anything changes.

Love the Brand, Sizing however is Hit and Miss!
I really like the Grin&Bear it brand. However sizing is VERY inconsistent. I usually wear a Large in hoodie (5'9, 185 lbs), but the Large for this style fits like a Medium, which is TOO TIGHT. The material is very nice, cut is flawless. However I'm deducting a star for the ill fitted shirt (not going to ship it back to Europe), and another star for the inconsistent sizing.

... another one before in a different color and fitted good, but this one came larger that the other ...
i bought this one Large because i have bought another one before in a different color and fitted good, but this one came larger that the other Large I got before. so basically sizes are not very consistent. 5'9" 150 pounds

Doesn't look exactly like they are selling in the picture
Doesn't look exactly like they are selling in the picture. The quality is nice however, just prefer to get for exactly what is advertised.
