I'm using this to replace a 1440w element that quit working in my RV water heater. It's a higher wattage than what's usually used in an RV heater, but so far I've seen nothing detrimental by doing so. What I HAVE noticed is the 6 gallons of cold water that's initially in there heats up a LOT faster being this is about 500 watts more powerful than a standard RV water heater element. A 1440w element draws around 12 amps, so I'm guessing this one's using about 15, which isn't too obscene. Again, I've seen nothing bad by using it in place of the standard element, other than getting hot water a LOT faster.

This item has a one year warranty and has failed within the first two months of use. It has developed a leak between the screw base and the plastic terminal base. I have been unable to find any information on how to file a warranty replacement claim.

Installation was a breeze (once I acquired the proper socket wrench at the local hardware store). After removing the damaged element, the new piece threaded in nicely. I gave the socket about a 1/2-turn beyond hand tight (to sufficiently compress the gasket), turned the water supply on to fill the heater tank, applied power to the heater. Half-hour later I had hot water once again. Been working flawlessly ever since.

120v 2kW water heater coil. Works as described. Wired into a sous vide machine and so far have over 250 hours of use out of it so hoping that it will last for the long haul.
