## Questions & Answers

**Q: When setting up a position, does it sense where the pieces are or do you have to use the buttons to enter the position? Are the pieces chipped?**
A: When setting up a mid game position you have to use the buttons to tell the Centaur where each piece is located (and of what type of piece it is). The board senses where pieces are but not what they are - i.e. they are not chipped.

**Q: can i pause a game, turn it off and resume it at a later time?**
A: Adjourning and restarting a game...
You can interrupt a game and continue it at a later time. During play simply turn off Centaur by pressing the “On/Off” button for 3 seconds. If you wish you can remove the pieces from the board. When restarting Centaur, the adjourned game position is shown on the display. If you had removed the pieces, replace them as indicated on the display and you can continue the game.
Beware! Do not put the pieces in the starting position. If you do this your current game will be removed from the board memory.

**Q: is there an average response time for its moves ,,thank you**
A: Hi,response time is from immediate to few seconds, depending on which level you are playing at.

**Q: Can I use my unweighted wooden chess pieces instead of the supplied ones?**
A: You can use most pieces so long as you stick either foil or copper felt to the bases to let the board detect movement. Quite a few examples on YouTube.
