This companion volume to the enormously popular 200 Gooey, Slippery, Slimy, Weird, and Fun Experiments brings together magical projects from Janice VanCleave's Science for Every Kid and Spectacular Science Projects series--plus 40 all-new experiments that make science come to life. Children Ages 8-12 Review: Perfect for Homeschool or Public School! - So many good science experiments! There are clear instructions for how to do the experiments as well as explanations for the experiments! Most of these are quick, require simple supplies, and are low preparation! But they pack a punch in education, fun, and understanding! These are great for budding scientists that you want to encourage to question the world! I have loved this book! As someone who taught for four years in a public school setting (3rd grade), I wish I had this book to supplement the curriculum we used! Or just in place of our terrible curriculum, honestly. Review: Excellent for young learners - Saw this in a recommended for you section when purchasing another book. So glad I did!! I've been looking for a condensed form of pinterest science for young kids and this is it! The experiments are pretty quick and simple but very interesting to early learners. The materials are all pretty basic so you would have most of it around the house already. I love that it gives a clear purpose and explanation with each experiment. Purchased a used version as well and saved some money!

Author's Response to Comments
I do appreciate all comments. I have always found science fun and exciting. As to the activities being shot and simple, they are exactly the kind I used when teaching science--6th thruogh highschool chemistry and physics. My approach was to provide something simple to ease kids into the more complicated information. I called them "Fun Labs." Basic topics were introduced and yes, the kids had fun. These activities gave me the opportunity to "pull" from my students ideas for further science inquiry using, "What might change the result? What if you changed............? This was an introduction to two types of variables--dependent and independent. The sky is the limit for further investigations and of course introducing the scientific method. The simple experiments in this book provide possible experimental research for science fair projects. I love simple, quick science experiments. They can cautapult one into endless science discoveries.

Very good book for home experiments
Great book with lots of quality experiments that are easy to do at home. We are thoroughly enjoying the experiments. My only criticism is that the relationship to the scientific method and scientific principles are somewhat difficult to discern for those without a strong science background.

Exciting and simple experiments
My children love science and so we use this book. I also use it for our Classical Conversations community day. So many experiments to choose from. Some are very simple, others require a large list of materials. I especially love the โwhyโ section where it explains the reasoning for the experimentโs outcome.

Lots of ideas and good explanations behind the experiments
Lots of ideas and good explanations behind the experiments. Many are not quite as bizarre or awesome as the title might portray. Good resource for homeschooling parents.
