Old Macdonald: A Hand-Puppet Board Book (Little Scholastic)

I bought this hand puppet to have some fun with my granddaughter. While she is only 3 months old, she looks at the finger puppets, which is brightly colored, while I sing Old MacDonald. I can see, even at this age, it keeps her attention. Her Nonna is having fun too, mooing, quacking, etc!

So happy with this purchase! Our 9 mo old loves it! This fits my hand and also on my husband due to stretchy material. The board book is made well and so are the finger puppets.The colors and soft and cute. Would recommend.

I purchased this for my 3 month old son in a toy shop 8 months ago. He adored it then, possibly even more than he does now. This is the toy/book that we travel with as it never ceases to calm and amuse him. I pulled it out in a mother group in a cafe some time ago and all of the children were so transfixed that I had to do a bit of a bulk order from Amazon to cover off the upcoming birthday gifts for our friends. We have all of the others in this series (except Noah) and this is by far the best and most loved. The detailing in the stitching of the finger puppets in Macdonald and the 5 little pigs is just beautiful, while the detailing on the dinos and the black and white twinkle star puppets are transfers/ stuck on. These books have tolerated months of serious punishment very well. Very nice indeed.

I bought this for my 7month old son as he loved looking at my fingers while I sing poems to him. He gets excited looking at these as I sing old McDonald to him. I feels it's a good engaging and educational puppet/toy for babies and for toddlers as well. Only issue I have is that it after washing the colors didn't stay the way I received them.

If it's not for me, it's another family member ordering.Here's my story about this book:I was in a department store and saw this book thrown on a shelf, alone and in the wrong area of the store. I see the price tag and got in line to purchase it. The book is adorable! But, the line wasn't moving. The sales people were talking amongst themselves about a product. I pick up my phone, go to my Amazon app and see the book on Amazon for a better price. Click on the purchase tab, put the book down and walked out of the store. The sales people were still talking amongst themselves as I walked out.The book arrived promptly and the kids love the puppets! You need to know the Old MacDonald poem, because the book only states what each animal does, but it is worth it!

Gave this finger book to my Doctor for his newborn son. He had never seen the book and told me his little girls would be thrilled because they love Old McDonald. His newborn will be entertained forever by his sisters and the finger puppets.It’s soft, cuddly and easy to hold.

Our package arrived today and we are really looking forward to it, however, we were a bit disappointed in the quality of this book. For example the stiching of the dog's nose is only on the right side of his face. The corners of the book stuck together so when we turned the pages we removed some of each page leaving white dots on the corners. I agree with another reviewer, you might be better off buying finger puppets and singing the song your self.

It has a great quality, it's easy to use and my baby loved it since the first time she saw it. I got it before she was 1 so it's ok if you're thinking about getting this and aren't totally sure if your baby will like it or pay attention to it, it really helps to introduce the habit and interest for reading to babies.It's also very versatile because of the muppets you can change the story or song you want to do with your child. We like to sing the finger song, Old MC Donald (of course), we make the animal sounds only and etc.
