In 2008 I purchased a system and they worked great. When I moved to a different house I purchased another system to replace an outdated system that was on my new house.I purchased the Reolink 16ch 12mp PoE Camera system with the 4TB HDD in May of 2024. Installed all 8 cameras that came with the system and ordered 2 more cameras 3 days later due to wanted more coverage in areas I did not think about. The system work great. Easy to setup, great picture, very user-friendly. The extra cameras joined in just like the ones purchased in the system.In July 2026 I had a power surge and that made the NVR (hard drive) not to power on. I contacted Reolink and asked for troubleshooting procedures. After trying different things Reolink said since they were on warranty and I purchased them on Amazon through Reolink directly they would give me a refurbished unit. I shipped them the old unit and within 5 business days I had another NVR to connect. After setting it up and connecting it, I found out the power surge must of damaged 4 of the cameras that came with the original system. After contacting them using the same code they issued 4 cameras. The 4 cameras that were damaged were no longer in production and they could not give me refurbished cameras. So they shipped me 4 brand new updated cameras. I can say enough good things from the brand. Quality, Use, Customer Service all have been top notch. Very pleased with purchase. Will be buy more cameras for this system in time.The entire time I was waiting on the items to ship to me I had someone contacting each day to check on the progress.

Solid Fixed Cameras with Great Image QualityThese are simple, fixed dome cameras with digital zoom, and they do exactly what they’re supposed to do.Image quality is sharp with good color during the day, and they perform well at night too. The wide-angle view covers a good area, and motion tagging with object identification adds a nice layer of functionality.I’m currently running five of these as part of my full NVR system (see my other reviews), and they’ve been reliable with no issues.They’re not motorized or adjustable like PTZ cameras, but for fixed coverage areas, they work great and keep things simple.If you need dependable, good-quality cameras for a hardwired system, these are a solid option.Simple Setup. I cannot say enough good things about ReoLink. I ran CAT6 to every outside corner of the house after it was framed, but before the siding and drywall went up. All CAT6 cables connect to the ReoLink NVR. When I plug in these cameras, they show up in the app within about 10 seconds, so I can adjust their alignment in real time. These have white cables instead of black, so they hide a little better against the soffit.

I use this camera with 3rd party NVR software and use RTSP stream for saving 4K video. Out of the box, and even when updated with the latest firmware, the main RTSP stream was very unstable and basically unusable. I contacted customer support, and within 24 hours they hooked me up with beta firmware that solved the issue. Reolink customer support has always been great in my experience, which is why I've now bought four of their cameras now and plan to buy one more.If you are having similar trouble with the 4K RTSP stream, I definitely recommend you contact support and ask if there is newer firmware you could try. An alternative workaround is to use RTMP instead. You need to reduce the resolution to 5MP for that, but it is rock stable.Other than that, the camera is pretty nice. It rotates pretty easily in the mount, so I put a couple pieces of tape on it to keep it from turning inadvertently. The image quality is great during the day and decent at night. As mentioned, it works well for 3rd party surveillance systems like ZoneMinder and Blue Iris once you manage to get the stream stable. The field of view is wide but not ultrawide. It is actually exactly equivalent to a 24mm lens on a full-frame camera, for a point of reference. Plan placement wisely, or go with a camera that has a zoom feature if you need it to be wider.

Really happy with this camera overall. The image quality is excellent during the day and surprisingly good at night as well. The 4K resolution gives you plenty of detail, and the IR night vision works well without turning the image into an unusable mess.Motion detection has also been very reliable for me. The human, vehicle, and animal detection is genuinely useful and helps cut down on pointless alerts compared with basic motion detection. There are plenty of settings to tune how the camera behaves, and the software gives you a good amount of control without making everything overly complicated.One of the biggest reasons I like Reolink is that there is no subscription nonsense required to get the basic functionality you already paid for. You can record locally, use an SD card or your own NVR, and still get the important detection and monitoring features without constantly being pushed into another monthly fee. Or you can upload to local FTP server/NAS.PoE also makes these very convenient for a permanent installation since one cable handles both power and data. Once installed, they are basically set-and-forget.Overall, great image quality, good night performance, reliable smart detection, plenty of useful features, and no forced subscription. I have been very happy with mine and would definitely buy Reolink cameras again.

(UPDATE)I have to give it up to Reolink's customer service. They reached out to me to resolve my issues and to provide a very reasonable resolution to the issue that I had. Long story short, I received an updated NVR and I was able to hook up the 4k camera. I compared it to my 5MP camera and it does stand out and I was impressed. I am able to read the license plate of vehicles as they drive through the culdesac and the picture quality is nice. Installation was easy because the current holes on the wall lined up with the new camera as well.FYI - the older model NVRs are not compatible. When I received the newer NVR, it was slightly different from the one that I had.(Previous)purchased several of reolink products within the last 2 years. I started with the $500 NVR kit and over time added several additional cameras as the camera quality increased. Overall, I was content although they had issues here and there. When the 4k camera rolled out, I was excited to get it so I can see how it compares to the 5MP ones that I have. If I liked it, I was hoping to replace them out with addiional 4k cameras. To my major disappointment, these D800 cameras did not work with my 8CH NVR RLN8-410 although they advertise it as such. When my 4k camera did not sync, I was advised the older RLN8-410 did not work! Although it claimed it worked with ONLY 8CH NVRs, this is not true. There's no upgrade you can do other then to buy a whole new NVR.

UPDATE: The Reolink team offered me a discount on my next purchase for the lack of sFTP support. Fair enough, until having agreed a small percentage discount and bought another camera they WELCHED on the discount. Nice going Reolink. Expect customer service with a smile, a promise and … ZERO FOLLOW THROUGH.I hope Reolink enjoys its $10.Original post:Set up and operation was a dream. Working within minutes. Good pictures to my phone and pc without any complex set up. Microphone is clear.Two gripes: The movement detection is trigger happy. Rain, bugs, birds all trigger a recording even with settings on low sensitivity. Min detection size doesn’t prevent a bug shooting across the field of view triggering. In one night I had 36 emails. It was raining. So unless you’re keen to review hours of footage then you’ll end up turning off notifications. But I bought it for the view not security so not a problem.The second issue is that the camera can’t upload footage to a web host (for remote storage) using sFTP. This means that your footage can be intercepted/hacked. Probably not an issue to most people but a surprising omission. The support team have been responsive but I await a solution.

I have no idea what happened with this product. I ordered this to replace the older version of the same model. After updating everything, this 8MP camera still lacks the detail of an older 8MP reolink right next to it on the same NVR. Also the detection is terrible. When reviewing recordings, the lower quality recording starts 5 seconds earlier? The saved recordings are not starting 30 seconds before movement like the other cameras. Also, I just had a person come home and open a door- 8 feet away, and it was completely missed by this camera. All my cameras have the same sensitivity settings. I have no idea why this particular one has turned out terrible. It’s like NVR integration and recording is something it does as an afterthought.

自力で設置、この手の作業はそれなりになれてはいるので簡単な作業でした。POE対応のハブとケーブルを用意して接続するだけです。この手の中華製品の欠点は防水性能だと私は思っており、雨水にさらされる場合大体浸水して内部回路が壊れて使えなくなることが多いです。分解してみると分かりますけど、Ｏリングなど無いですから。ＩＰ性能歌ってるけどまあ信じちゃダメですね。このため、物によっては接合部にビニールテープ等を巻くとかなり長持ちするようになります。ただ、この商品の場合可動部が多すぎてビニールテープなどの防水強化は出来ません。軒下などの水のかからない場所に設置するのであればかなりお勧めです。コスパは良いですね。後気になったのは画角が狭いですね。レンズ自体が魚眼では無い。まあ、魚眼にして画像処理で歪みを直すなどをやるにはコストがかかりすぎるのでしょう。総じて、良い商品だと思います。ただ、高額の商品とは違い欠点はしっかりある、その欠点を理解した上で使用することが前提です。数万、数十万のカメラと同性能を求めること自体が間違っています。ご自身のやりたいこと、望む性能と天秤に掛けてお選びください。

ｗｅｂカメラを初めて購入しましたが、期待していた通りで満足しています。

POE給電で簡単に接続出来ました。レオアプリでの反応も早くカメラ画像を確認する事が出来ますがAlexaとの連携が不安定です。繋がるときはsho5で見れるが繋がらないときも多くて原因不明です。

RLC-820Aを購入レオリンクの他カメラは問題ないですが、こちらの商品だけ設定項目が異常に少なくモノクロでしか映りません。遠隔で動かせる訳でもなくこのカメラのメリットを何一つ感じなかった他のタイプにした方がいいです。
