Perfect for a kid birthday party. Worth every penny!
This was a birthday gift for a 4 year old. When I saw it said "over 96 pieces" I thought it could be chaos but when we opened it I realized it has so many pieces because many are duplicates so several kids at a party could all do an egg and have something to take home too. It would be so cute for a bday party for ages 5 to 10.I thought it might be too easy and we wouls finish all the eggs in one day, but it was the opposite. It's actually pretty hard but I say that in a good way! We did 2 eggs the first weekend and one took about 30 min and the 2nd one I mostly did myself for at least an hour and the dinosaur is still halfway in the egg! Kids will need a little patience and strength which is why I think age 5 -10 is a good age for this. Younger kids may need some help. You dig the dinosaur bones out of the egg, get it cleaned off, then you can cover it with the clay to make the skin and features. It also comes with some dinosaur figurines not in eggs and dinosaur fact cards. It was definitely worth the price!! I would recommend doing it outside or on the floor with newspapers or plastic tablecloth. The egg does make a big mess but also sweeps up easy. We'll be having fun with this for months.

very thorough kit, great for a group and has reusability with the included modeling clay
Used this for a scout meeting activity "digging in the past". Had enough eggs for the whole group and their siblings. Plenty of tools included. Eggs were *just* difficult enough to excavate that it filled a good chunk of time. The modeling clay and trading cards were fantastic extras that I didn't realize we were getting in the box. I'd recommend this to any group for an educational or birthday party activity. Excellent value for cost. The tools held up well and were able to be used on other similar excavating toys.

Impressive STEM / Arts&Craft Combination!!
This is the most fun yet educational set the kiddo has ever had with dinosaurs! Not only it came with 12 different eggs for the kids to crack (it’s so much fun to do each one of them) and the clay packs are very vibrant! The dinosaur skeletons are made in detail and pretending to be an archeologist has been my kid’s dream. My personal favorite is the identification cards cause it’s got good information for the whole family to learn!! I’m not a fossil expert but they seem to be accurate. Definitely an AMAZING set - would recommend this to any schools, teachers, or just families that like dinosaurs as much as us!

Great fun for my son!
My son has a wide collection of dinosaur toys so this was a great addition to his collection. He and his friends played with this set for hours! With 12 different dinosaurs in each Klever kit, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. From a T-Rex to a Brachiosaurus each dinosaur must first be chiseled out from the fossilized egg. Using a unique collector card for each fossil you identify the species and reform its shape with the different colored clay provided in the set.. the clays are soft & super easy to mold. Definitely one of the best educational toys I’ve gifted to my son!

Great for my first grade class!
I used this with a class of first graders (6-7 year olds) to wrap up a unit on fossils and dinosaurs. It was a huge hit! Per other reviewers suggestions, I soaked the eggs in water ahead of time for about 1 hour. Out of my class of 20, the range for getting the dinosaurs out of the eggs was between 15 minutes and 45 minutes (I brought my hammer to help smash a couple of resistant eggs at the end, but most kids were able to mine the skeletons out on their own with the tools provided). What wasn't clear in the description was the number of tools included...but I was delighted to find there are enough tools included so that each egg in the kit has one yellow chisel, one blue knife/scraper, and one paintbrush to go with it. Since we soaked the eggs and washed the skeletons at the end, we didn't end up needing the paintbrushes at all so I saved them for art projects. Start to finish about 1 hour for the unearthing plus matching the cards and plastic dino toys to the skeletons, playing for a bit, and cleaning up. I did have one kid whose skeleton didn't match any of the included info cards, but luckily I had an extra she could use. GREAT value and high interest and excitement!! Definitely do this outside, though -- it is messy!

The top Christmas gift in the whole house
Excellent gift! The chalk eggs are exceptionally well done. It is difficult and time consuming enough to make you feel like you are really earning it, but easy enough that the littlest of kids can make some progress (a brand new 3 year old at our Christmas). The 7 year old worked steadily through the eggs, and the adults enjoyed it too. It is a fantastic activity for parents/aunts/uncles to do with kids. The chisels need something to hit them with, which is not included. We used a miniature hammer, an unopened soup can, and a metal ice cream scoop as hammers for the included chisels, all of which worked well. The paintbrushes are a really nice touch. The 5 year old and the 3 year old loved to brush off the dust "oh so carefully, like a paleontologist" and see it puff up off of the skeletons. The included cards are sturdy and attractive, enough to make kids feel like they are fancy collectibles. They show the dinosaurs (fleshed) and an image of the skeletons. The kids loved having the cards! As soon as they unearthed the smallest part of a skeleton in an egg (a foot, the edge of a tail, anything), they would gather up the cards and try to narrow down who might be in their egg by looking at the skeleton pictures. The clay is particularly hard. You will need to warm minute pieces in your fingers in order to add to the skeletons, which is not as enjoyable as a sister clay might be. However, the detailed attention needed in recovering the skeletons makes it a great activity for grandparents to get in on the action. It all comes in a tightly packed box, but you will really get your money's worth if you unbox it, wrap elements individually, and repackage as though the recipients are paleontologists discovering the dinosaur eggs. I rewrapped in the shipping box, which worked very well.
