Product arrived saying 3500w on the back of the unit and the information booklet said you needed to install it with a 32amp mini circuit breaker! Consequently you can’t just plug it in and use it . I saw James Martin using single plate induction hobs on his Saturday morning show on TV and really admired them; perfect for a cooking space I have, except that mine is a summer area under cover. I wanted something compact that I could plug in without permanent wiring and that could be semi-permanent and this two plate design is superb. With a little jiggery-pokery for setting it into a removable section of worktop I have easily got exactly what I needed. The plug in thinking is genius, it's saved me approaching an electrician to do things for us. I can see this being really useful for anyone with a small cooking space where there's no readily available wiring but there's access to a socket. It works fantastically well, as well as looking the part. I love the compact two plate nature. Controls are fantastic and it heats up much more quickly than I thought it would. One of the star ratings for this is "easy to clean" and I have to say that as it's a glass induction hob the usual cleaning rules apply!
