Works like it should

I don't think they are of very good quality.

Ordered on Monday, received on Wednesday as advertised. Old lights (long gone) had stainless steel mounting bolts (one left), I wish these did, but I'm going to paint them, and hopefully that will help. The heat shrink wire connections may work fine, but I'd have appreciated a little instruction in how to properly use them. I think I did it correctly, the lights are working, but I worry that I didn't do it as well as possible and they might not hold up over time.

Had to look around a while to find this 6" x 3" rectangle size. Johnson needs to include instructions on how to use the waterproof shrink sleeves they include to splice the wiring. They are actually a great selling point! I incorrectly tried crimping and then heating with hair dryer. Finally figured out no crimping and you heat them carefully with a torch. As extra corrosion protection I soldered the wires together first but sleeve looks like it will do a good job of soldering as it shrinks and seals. Tip 1 - Use a small screwdriver to gently bend the plastic tabs that are supposed to hold the bolts in the slots. Tip 2 - To prevent pinching of the wires I superglued a 4 small fat orings on the back of each light as spacers. Tip 3 - before you cut wires to your old lights, pull on the wires some and see if they have connectors hidden in the frame. Mine did and it made the swap out easier as I was soldering at my workbench instead of sitting on the floor.

These lights are sealed nicely and are LEDs. They are 6" long, so they fit my old 1992 trailer. 6" submersible, rectangular, LED tail lights are hard to find. Wiring was straightforward with the wire ends already stripped and a pad eye for the ground wire. Wiring connectors were also included. My only complaint is that the bolts to attach these to the trailer were not stainless steel or even galvanized. In saltwater environments, we need to use stainless or galvanized, otherwise the hardware corrodes immediately.

I bought these to install on a boat trailer I had bought to refurbish for use for a different boat. They were very easy to install and wire up. I didn't use the wire nuts though, I soldered my connections and use water proof heat shrink. But they're nice and bright and work perfect. I ended up not using the trailer I used them on for the different boat, but bought a new trailer instead. The new trailer came with the old style filament type bulb tail lights, and I intend to buy another pair of these to replace those. All the lights on my 2019 Silverado are LED, and I want the lights on the "new" boat trailer to be LED as well. Don't even want to mess around with "bulbs" anymore. These are nicely made and nice and bright. I would certainly recommend them.

This product came with some heat shrunk to cover the wire connections. They work great. The blue colored part melts to conform to the wire. I am hoping that will keep out the salt water. For my setup, the bolts were a tiny bit short. So, I just used the bolts from the previous lights. East to install. I have had the trailer in saltwater twice since the install and had the light underwater. They seem to be doing fine so far.
