Awesome little screws.
These screws solve problems. The points are very sharp. This may seem obvious, but they're much sharper than most. These start easily (by hand! without even thinking about drilling anything!) in thin sheet metal, or wood, or plastic, or whatever. They've got dual threads. This means that they drive in with half as many turns of the screwdriver, and have an extra thread with which to cling into thin materials. The heads are big. This helps when fastening weak materials, like (say) plastic plumber strap. The Philips recess is precise, and appropriately-tight. It fits snugly onto my non-magnetic screwdrivers without falling off, and also does not slip when I use them with a drill. The black finish may not be the most weather-resistant, but it is certainly black. Black often works well when trying to keep fasteners appear less-obviously. I don't know what process is used to make them black (and there are at least a couple of them that could apply), but it does not appear to be paint.Other thoughts: These are sold as "wood screws," but are actually what is conventionally known as sheet metal screws. More is better
We use a lot of these so its so much easier to buy 100 at a time to make sure we always have them on hand. They work great and haven't had problems with them.
