Bought this for my 7 year old grandson who is showing interest in building motorized machines. This was perfect for an elementary, first time builder! The parts and tools are chunky sized for children's hands while being accurate replicas of standard tools. The instructions are a very simple, clear set of step by step instructions with clear, easy to interpret photos (there are no written instructions but this is no problem, particularly for kids who are stronger visual learners). A younger child will definitely need some assistance especially if they have never built anything before, like my grandson. He was able to follow instructions and build about 75% of the finished machine on his own with no help. I mainly helped him identify the names of the tools and parts, instructed him on what the symbols on the instructions meant and, at times, helped hold the peice while he fastened nuts and bolts. There are six designs that can be made from this. It does require two AA batteries for the motor.

I bought these for my 6 yr old son for Christmas, HE loves them and so do his older brother and younger sister. This product helps with fine motor skills, problem solving and imagination!

Fun project for my 8 year old. It can be a bit overwhelming to do on his own but it's fairly easy for him with my help. The only complaint I have is that the plastic screws broke. We made one and a screw broke while he was taking it apart. While I was helping him put together another one of the screw broke during assembly. He was not being rough with it either do I'm guessing the pieces are just cheaply made.Update: After taking apart one of the projects more screws broke. I was the one unscrewing them and taking apart so they weren't being roughed up. It is nice to see if your child it's intereseted in this kind of thing but I wouldn't purchase a second time.

I bought this assembly toy for my 7 year old son's birthday and he won't put it down. He plays with it constantly. You can tell this motorized toy is a very well made product, sturdy and the parts fit so well together making it very easy to assemble.I especially appreciate the convenient storage bin that comes with it.My son is crazy about the power motor and has learned so much about engineering from this one fabulous toy. The instruction manual is very clear & easy to follow. Highly recommend it!

This toy came very fast and it is exactly as in the picture. It comes with a nice storage box and the bag, with make it easy to keep the parts organized! We made all the 5 vehicles in the instruction book! It is great to work coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and following instructions in kids. It has been really useful for me. Although depending on the kid age and functioning level, they may need some help. The only thing is that when you use and reuse some of the pieces it can break, such as some screws. I would like we could build more than one at the same time. But overall this is a great product! The kind of things we should buy to the kids!

Well we have played with this thing a total of at least 50 hours and at least 10 different layouts

This was a gift for my 9 year old grandson and he is having a great time playing with it. The directions to assembly the different vehicles are easy understand.

Instructions were pretty clear. Kind of hard for the 9 year old to get the screw through 5 layers and still get it bolted. However, he loves it. The only problem is one of the black bolts that holds the wheels on has a manufacturing defect and it sits at an angle and I can't find where to contact the seller. I don't want to return the entire thing because my son is enjoying it however since it is one of four pieces that hold the tires on there aren't any extras and so the cars will always ride funny.
