Great functional prop for plague doctor costume!
I bought this specifically to add an extra oomph to my plague doctor costume. I would silently walk around holding out the lantern, and it looks like the real deal, a worn old oil lantern. It puts out a decent enough amount of light to keep you on the sidewalk. I'm going to use it as a decoration piece in my office, and probably as a backup light source for power outages. Very nice for the price!

More of a Prop Than a Utility
I like the fact that it looks so vintage like and that it is an LED light bulb so, that the batteries could last super long! of course for a cheap price, the material was a little flimsy and thats expected when I saw the top half didn't held onto the glass down when I opened it from my Amazon box. The glass felt so fragile but, it has survived so many scratches. I also brought it to the beach but, the bottom got so moist from the sand that my batteries got corroded. In all, it isn't too bright to give you a great view of your surroundings, I think of it as a prop more than a utility.PROs:- It defines the vintage qualities- It's LED Lightbulbs- Uses AA Batteries- It's lightweightCONs:- Fragile glass- Isn't tight on the top so it sometimes falls apart but, won't come off (thank god)- Not too bright- Battery door at the bottom can get moisture in

Very pleasant surprise.
What's to dislike?I love the price. I love how it looks. I love how fast it got here.I don't like the fact that I didn't get two.The second one is coming tomorrow. I love the paturn of light it puts on the ceiling. I have 2 oil lamps and no they don't flicker.

Great purchase!
Great stage prop! Sturdy, well made. The LED bulb is bright, but I didn't have to do anything to it in order to get an authentic lamplight look. I couldn't have changed the bulb anyway. There's no way to get into the glass globe part.

Great for rustic theme decor
I bought 2 of these before thanksgiving, to use as centerpieces for dinner. Very nice touch. Gives off a tiny little glow.At night I shut all the lights off and just turn on the lantern, which casts what look like rings of Saturn on the ceiling. Kinda fun. These are not durable camping style lanterns. These are indoor novelty, but functional, decor lanterns. I think they are just a little high priced though.

Flimsy, not much light output still looks ok
Glass and think alloy. Looks the par. Very little light output from the LED so I have to assume the batteries (3x AAA) will last a long time.

I have been asked, can this be used as a camping lantern? In my opinion, this is a great prop for costume or decor.
We decided to renovate our living to a more rustic, old time feel. We have a wall mural with a huge ship covering it. On the outside of the ship are lanterns, similar to this product. I ordered one to get an idea of the product. I was so impressed, I ordered two more. It gives our living a perfect rustic addition and also acts as a conversation piece. You cannot tell it's plastic unless you touch it. But everyone who has seen it so for, are in awe to touch it. Best part, it's battery operated. The lighting isn't as bright as our camping lanterns, which is also perfect for the look we were going for.
