Will this connect to a garden hose?

I don't think it will fit on a garden hose. The hose we have it hooked up to is a 2 inch pond pump drainage.

good for inlet filter in koi pond

I'm using this at the start of my intake from the koi pond to the (above ground) external pond pump. It keeps the large debris from making it into the priming pot or pump. I have a sponge or brush on a pole that I'll use to remove debris trapped against the sides. So far it's working great.
