The best !!!
My daughter has trouble reading, learning to read in first grade was very difficult for her. She was never very excited to practice her reading. Things have changed with this book. She loves it. Every time, after she finishes reading every story (while I assist her when needed ) and its activity, I love seeing that beautiful smile on her face. She always says "mommy I liked it" . As a mom Thank you. I am very grateful for this book. Thank you so much

Wonderful!
The media could not be loaded. This is a great addition to our homeschool curriculum. It is sharpening her reading and comprehension. The stories in the book are easy to read, follow along and understand. And the exercises at the bottom are fun for my daughter to do.

Shockingly poor grammar
I am torn. The exercises are fun and my child is admittedly learning close reading. However, the grammar is so execrable that it shocks me. the author claims to be an educator but seems blissfully unaware of the basics of grammar— some examples: “a lot of pieces” (page 20; a lot instead of many), “draw things you would see in Clifton below” (page 19; misplaced “below” suggests Clifton is below), “Nate’s class were writing about what they did over the summer” (ugh. Page 86 Should be “was” and more damagingly, “had done”—the use of the casual past tense is the ultimate sloppiness)I am extremely disheartened because the impunity with which these are repeated suggests that this sort of extremely poor grammar has become acceptable. Except, it’s not condoned on the SATs, so we should probably nip it in the bud early and avoid these types of books.
