I wish I installed sooner. I bought mine 18months ago but after redoing a dual pump setup with a Radon mitigation lid, I was in no hurry to dig that all apart to get at one check valve under that lid. But after 10's of thousands of cycles with a regular check valve on the primary pump finally worked its way loose from hammering away with seasonal heavy rains, I updated both 1.5 and 2" pipes. Easy to install and super duper quiet!!! Omigosh, we can sleep at night with no one thumping on the walls of the basement. My 1.5" is on a Halo system that is essentially my cycle counter with the larger emergency backup on a 1hp 2" pipe. Nice to see the action of each unit. Only thing I wish they had was a magnetic catch that could help manually open the flap for extra peace of mind come brutal Wisc winters to avoid freezing any water that might still be near the wall or exit area. Mine typically run early spring and wet summers and sump is basically bone dry come winter especially with the Radon fan - which also increases the flow of water due to the immense suction generated. I cut an access window in mine to be able to inspect and reach an arm in for emergency maint work on sensors, etc..

Finally no clunky noise! So happy I found this. It is ultra silent. The one they put in my new construction was so loud that no one could sleep in guest bedroom from the clunky noise. Get this ultra-silent valve. You won’t regret it. All check valves should be required to be this silent.

So yeah. Perhaps you are like I was, reading all the reviews about just how quiet this things is...blah blah blah. Well, I can tell you that those other reviews are spot on. Our sump pump sounded like a baby elephant falling down some wooden stairs when shutting off before, and with this thing, I literally can be standing right beside it and not hear it shut off. So there ya go. Now when we have a big storm, I have to go down to the basement to check and make sure the pump is working. I'd definitely buy it again.

I was a little worried that the larger diameter valve body wouldn’t fit because my sump standpipe is right next to the wall, but it ended up fitting fine. The rubber pipe fittings are more robust than the on the one I replaced. Be sure to test the installation right away. The top fitting had a minor leak because I didn’t tighten one of the clamps well enough. Better to know sooner than later!

I used it on my sump pump. It works good but it’s not all that silent.

No more check valve hammer noise.

I have lived in my house for 9 years and my sump pump has made the water hammer slam the entire time. I finally got fed up and researched and found this. I cannot believe how well it works. Pump is silent now, no slam. It works so well, I ordered another for my ejector pump. I recently had some pipe replaced by plumbers and ever since have the water hammer, although not as bad, on my ejector pump discharge. So excited that these annoying sounds will be gone!

Works great , perfectly silent and easy to install. So glad I got it and don’t have to hear the other one clang anymore.
