How well does this work on the beach for fine gold chains and jewelry compared to the ace 400 & at pro?

It works OK until you get to wet sand if in a saltwater area. Once there, it gets wonky and very hard to get a real reading. IMO, this is for jewelry in parks or gold prospecting the mountains... I have found jewelry, coins and random items at the beach. I will be getting an Equinox 600 for my next one.
