Best in class.
In this price range, it's hard to find a better option than this glove. It's super comfortable and looks great. It comes virtually game ready out of the package, and is easy to break in. It was good to go after some manual working of the glove and a single catching session. I'm a grown man, 6'1", 275lbs with grown man sized hands, and the glove fits great. It would probably be an excellent choice for a bigger 12-13 yr old and will likely last throughout high school and beyond if properly maintained.

It's a Rawlings.
When I was young I only used Rawlings gloves. At that time they were the most widely used gloves in baseball, called 'the finest in the field '. Now ,at 70, I decided to get back into softball, at a somewhat slower speed. This is a great glove and it has a perfect pocket for either softball or hardball. The leather is high quality and soft. It was easy to break in. The price was right and compared to gloves priced at two to three hundred dollars this is just as good. This model can be used for infield or outfield.

This glove is awesome.
This glove is awesome, it was stiff at first obviously. But anyone who place baseball or softball knows a good quality glove when feel the texture. It says synthetic leather but it does not feel synthetic. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good glove.

Highschool catcher
As a high school catcher this product was and is amazing. I was looking for a glove that would last me about a year, until I really got into catching, but this product has lasted through my sophomore year and is still holding up completely fine. The reason I gave a 4-star review is the fact that it has little padding if you were to accidently catch the ball in the palm of your hand. In that case I would recommend the Stop the Sting Pro, sold on amazon. Great value for product.

Great glove.
Going on the 3rd season with this glove. It is holding up and my son really likes it. Even the other catcher on the team uses my sons glove.

A Game-Changing Experience
The Unboxing ExperienceWhen my Rawlings Player Preferred Adult Catcher’s Mitt arrived, I was immediately impressed by the prompt shipping. Upon opening the package, the glove was in perfect condition with no defects or issues. What truly surprised me was how broken-in it felt right out of the box - something rare for new baseball gloves.Performance on the FieldThe real test came at practice that night. After catching over 200 pitches, the mitt felt like an extension of my hand - as if I’d been using it for years rather than hours. The pocket formed naturally, and the glove responded well to fast pitches without excessive sting or resistance.Comparison to Premium BrandsAs someone who has played with Wilson, Marucci, Mizuno, and Nokona gloves, I approached this Rawlings mitt with measured expectations. I was genuinely surprised by how it rivaled these premium brands in comfort and performance. The break-in period was practically non-existent - a stark contrast to some high-end gloves that can take weeks of conditioning.Durability ExpectationsWhile I can’t yet speak to long-term durability, my experience with other Rawlings Ready-to-Play gloves over the past 5+ years gives me confidence that this mitt will stand the test of time. Their track record for durability at this price point is impressive.Final ThoughtsTo Rawlings: You’ve knocked this one out of the park. The Player Preferred Catcher’s Mitt delivers professional-level performance with virtually no break-in time. It’s a remarkable value that makes quality equipment accessible to more players. Keep up the incredible product development - you’ve earned a loyal customer.

Great for the price!
This glove is GREAT for being less that $100. I have bigger hands and it is SLIGHTLY too small for me, but should easily fit 95% of teen or adult male hands. It does not prevent me from being able to use it, I just really have to work my hand in there to get it on all the time way. That might improve over time as I get it more worn in. With that said, it does come out of the box pretty stiff and will require a good amount of work to soften it up for improved use. I slapped mine in the oven with some oil 2 or 3 times and that got it to usable, but it took a few rounds of catch and some additional effort while sitting around watching TV or something to get it perfect. It is VERY durable and tough, especially for a glove on the less expensive side. I know it’s advertised as baseball and softball, but I’d recommend something bigger if you’re looking to play softball; this glove at 12.5” is more ideal for baseball. This is a great starter glove if your teen/young adult isn’t 100% sure they want to be going all-in on the sport, or for adults just wanting to play in a beer league, or for dad just wanting a decent glove to play catch with. Again, for less than $100, this is the best glove I’ve owned over the years and I don’t see myself needing to buy another one anytime soon due to how well-built this one actually is.
