O livro é exatamente o que defino em minha descrição: um compilado de "dicas e truques" como vemos a rodo em vídeos gratuitos no youtube. Livros sobre roteiro de cinema como Story do McKee oferecem ferramentas muito mais concretas de construção de mundo, ainda que, infelizmente, sem nenhum aparato visual. O que temos aqui é exatamente o oposto: uma variedade grande de imagens acompanhada de escassas ferramentas de design. Para aqueles que gostam do traço do autor, que possui um charme de velha guarda dos quadrinhos, o livro pode servir ao menos como um artbook de mesa de centro.

I bought this as a present for my partner for Christmas, who is a worlbuilding and DND fanatic.They really love the book, and I had a look through it myself and wanted a copy for myself! The illustrations are gorgeous, and I find the tips help you no matter what skill level you're at when it comes to world building, writing or illustrating.

This is a great book, it’s full of lots of great examples of creatures, worlds and lots of creative details. It does not have a beginners art step,by step, but instead he tells us why he draws what and why he does. He leaves the creativity of the illustrations to us and instead, shows us why the background story is important...The art is also awesomely done! I’d buy any book by Mark!
