Actually my second one purchased my son broke the first one which was perfectly fine after 3 years and better, great trimmer for at home or even a professional, my experience is that this is as close to a Zero Gap you’ll get out of the box for the price, I’d give it 10 stars if I could, lastly as a bald head guy I feel confident just using this machine and no razor blade afterwards it gets that close!

Very close blade the closest one I found. I shaved my face with this and while it's not as close as a razor it's very solid for someone who's lazy. It will get much closer than the standard shaver.

From the '80s up to now, I've purchased Wahl products. This particular product doesn't shave as close as you would like. It has a higher quality motor in it. I remember they had what you called "black man's shaver" but it was actually a t edger and it cut so close you only had to go in your face once maybe twice. Unfortunately Wahls quality isn't as good as it used to be. Feel good but not excellent.
