Do we have to punch holes in these to install them correctly?

You don't need pre-punch holes for this film. Just line up the film with the frame and the screw goes through the material easily. If you still feel the need to make a hole, you can line up the film with the frame, and use the tip of the screw driver to punch the first hole, then insert the screw and go from there.
