I would definitely recommend this metal detector for anyone starting out, a lot cheaper than comparable models and comes with some very useful extras, a beginners guidebook and a little trowel. I was able to assemble it in a few minutes without the manual, but I would recommend reading the manual to learn how to use it right. Great detector that won't break the bank.

This metal detector is a good idea. Comes with some good literature for helping with your adventures, however, I'm not sure the metal detectors work like they're supposed to. My friend and I both got one of these and we were in different spots of the yard and our detectors made the exact same sounds and patterns. They constantly beep. I haven't been lucky enough to find any treasures because according to the detector, treasure should be everywhere! Maybe I just need to learn more or maybe they are programmed to pretend to work. I personally wouldn't recommend this but maybe you'd have better luck with it.

Received this metal detector and used it right away, the kids have always wanted one so this is the perfect metal detector for them to start with. We haven't found any HUGE treasure yet, but it is again perfect for a first time owner of a metal detector.

Easy to use once you've read the manual which just takes a few minutes. Lightweight with a comfortable arm rest. Great price too, well worth it. My little nephew loved it too.

This was purchased as a gift for my son's birthday. I am happy with the contents for price value, but I haven't seen this in use yet. I think including a resin (not metal) scoop was brilliant!

Does not do a very good job of detecting metals. I went out on the beach in December with my sons and after about an hour of not finding much, my boys watched in dismay as a family near us, with another brand, continually stopped and cheered as they found money and other interesting things. They attempt to use it, but become bored quickly.
