DAP18268 2 Pack 10.1 oz. Roof Waterproof Asphalt Filler and Sealant, Black

We had a brand new asphalt shingle gambrel roof and the shingles weren't properly secured on the steeper portion. This "glued" the shingles back down with minimal mess and they have stayed put. Glad for a quick fix to a less than stellar roofing job.

This old fashion stuff really works!Years ago I installed a header board on the back wall of my patio so I could instal a 21 ft roll out awning.I used silicon seal to seal the board to the wall.I dried out and started a leak.I recently used this stuff and it is tar based which should last much longer.So far no leaks and I do not expect to have one for many years.

Dap 18268 2 Pack 10.1 oz. Roof Waterproof Asphalt Filler and Sealant, BlackI developed a small leak through a nail, that was allowing a slight amount of water to soak through the plywood of my roof. A failure of the roofer to keep his nail line under the shingles. Just a dab over the head and spread around well enough to seal the head completely was needed to stop the leak through the hole and around the nail.

Roof repair from Tropical Storm straight line winds removing 10 gable edge shingles. Used to caulk under shingles for temporary rain protection, if blown off again, and also caulked edge facing straight line winds. Used roofing nails with 2" plastic washers, two per side. Also used to repair crack in one shingle. Have ordered additional tubes of roof caulking for future emergency repairs.

Bought this tar in a tube and used caulk gun to fix my roof. At first it didn't come out but then I remembered to cut the end off with a knife. Then it came out great. Wished there was a way to save the extra but there wasn't so I was generous with it. Maybe too generous. Those shingles are never coming off again.

Advertised as a 2 pack but only received 1 tube , product is a 5 but expected 2 tubes not 1 - ordered 3 2 packs but received 3 tubes

DAP is all I use on my roof for resealing shingles. Storms this past summer did loosen a few and caused minor leaking. I have no worries about it now.I would like to add that this review is contingent on roof maintenance, it is not a permanent repair, but will last for years in normal circumstances.

Does a good job stopping leaks

Most roofing products are very difficult to get out of the gun and are hard. This product flows nicely and can be used in even small cracks and then it hardens later.
