This did the trick.
After multiple attempts at buying various converters, this did exactly what I wanted. Fit in less than a minute and works perfectly.

Reduced flow
Severely reduced my flow rate. Leaking even with copious amounts of pfte tape. Rust after first use.

Perfect for the job
When look at the picture does not look like much but when receive looks alot better. Fitting was straightforward. No leaks. Also included washers. Quality looks good. Out all the amazon products this one includes all.of the fitting needed for the taps. There are ones with a better design which include one of the fittings and not both. I needed the M28 which this one had. The others on Amazon had the M25 which was no good.Once installed have to say was impressed.

Cheap but works with rust.
Some part inside is not stainless. Rusts and can be seen on the pull down at the start. Not expecting it to last. But looks less obtrusive than imagined. I have a pull up which has become impossible to lift and push. I didn't want to rip out the tap. So this was the best option. I get a restricted flow compared to a standard tap, and I hope this does not put the boiler under pressure when showering. Get what you pay for.
