At my eye appointment, after cataract surgery, I informed him that since my surgery my eyesight (at times) upon waking was blurry. At the exam my optometrist showed me small “wart like areas ” (drusens). While he was not overly concerned, he showed me a comparison from four years earlier where the drusen were also present. He also did another test (don’t know the name) where if wavy lines were present would indicate the drusen were affecting my eyesight. Fortunately that was not the case, but he recommended I start using PreserVision AREDS 2. I have just received my AREDS 2, and started taking it. I have a real problem taking capsules, but this supplement is soft gels so swallowing them is no problem. Since I’ve just starting taking the supplement I have no idea if it’s working or not, but I trust my optometrist completely.
