This is a brilliant addition for Katana owners, particularly Katana 50 owners who don't have access to Boss' own pedal. Allows easy switching between preset channels, and easy ability to turn on and off pedals within each channel. Really opens up the 'on the fly' usability of the Katana. Plus you can link to a couple of apps to allow channel editing wirelessly, a real game changer meaning less requirement to plug into the pc. Comes with all the necessary cables, and feels very well built, feel of unit and button switches feel very solid. Even comes with stickers so you can customise labels so you know what you're turning off and on. It's a real game changer. Only minor criticims I'd have is same buttons that have 2 functions operated by a long and short press could be more intuitive, and you end up swiching to the channel selectors when trying to turn on and off reverb but you get used to it fairly quickly. In later versions they could get round this by adding a sixth button. Quick delivery and in my opinion excellent value for money

Bought a Katana 50 mkII Ex and wanted a foot switch to enable me to access all the extra presets you can’t access through the panel on the amp. After reading reviews, I decided to get the Airstep instead of the official boss GA FC and was so pleased I did. It’s easy to use, seems very sturdy and best of all, can connect to your phone via Bluetooth which means you can then change effects, settings and presets by either using the Boss Katana Air app or Katana Librarian app without needing to plug the amp into a computer.

Anyone with a Boss Katana like me , will find this really useful. You can now simply use Bluetooth for downloading patches via Katana librarian which has a small one of cost £12 ish instead of hooking up a laptop or pc. The Airstep opens up another arm of the Katana Amp which Itself is great. The Airstep can also be simply used for foot switching controls and changing panels. Very good price and anyone thinking about getting one should not hesitate. I don’t think they would regret it, I certainly love it.

I was looking for a pedal to switch channels on my Boss Katana 50 mkII. I looked at the Boss FS-6 and 7, and came across the AirStep Kat pedal. It does so much more than switch channels, and it gives you a blue tooth interface to configure the amp. Switching between channels is more intuitive with the AirStep than the boss pedals with 4 switches, so no worrying about which bank like you have to with the Boss pedals. The pedal is also really well built, works a treat and at a good price. I would recommend to any 50 mkII owners.

I use the BOSS Katana for gigging professionally, with the only drawback being accessibility to all of the amp's biggest features and potential when out on the road, accessible through the software and a USB connection to a laptop. This completely solves the issue - you can either use it simply as a Bluetooth connection, to allow you to use the Katana Librarian app (sold separately) to completely edit your sounds on the go via smartphone and use it live in tandem with the GA-FC-EXT, or if you can invest in a longer USB-C extension you can use it as a live footswitch, which gives massive versatility in a tiny package including Solo Boost to volume and / or EQ, cycling through the effects presets on your banks, and immediate switching from bank presets A to B. The build quality is solid, the materials robust, and whilst I haven't run into issues with the non-intrusive power switch and antennae, I'm sure they're sturdy enough. Do be careful if you have big feet, as it's easy to toggle the Solo boost accidentally whilst turning off Booster or Mod at the same time - which can be inconvenient when trying to go from a huge overdriven tone to a clean tone and accidentally making it blaringly loud instead.

This AIRSTEP Kat works great and just opens up everything for my Katana Mk2 50W on my iPad and iPhone, it also works with all the Katana range and it’s all so easy to do and easy to use, (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS) don’t forget to download the Katana Librarian app from the App Store, if you get stuck just look on YouTube there’s loads of tutorials on how to use it or go to the AIRSTEP website, and as for all the other options available this is probably the best and also I don’t think you can get a better foot controller that does so much or a foot controller that does any better for the price so if you’re thinking about buying it don’t hesitate well worth the money.

I purchased this for my Boss Katana and it now gives me easy access to 5 tone settings at the touch of a button. FX and Booster can be adjusted, but I haven’t gotten into those yet so can’t comment. The main thing for me was switching quickly between sound settings. Brilliant piece of kit and well worth purchasing.
