I bought this product in the hope that it would improve my visibility on the road because here in Wales itcan be very wet. I read the reviews and I must say the impression I had was that this product was excellent, judging by the majority of the 21 reviews. There was one review however that caused me some worry, namely reporting that the product was dangerous as it actually had impaired the reviewers vision rather than improving it. The review was short but seemed credible and I hesitated but then I decided to take a chance and I bought the article. I applied the product as recommended, it was a dry and sunny afternoon, 3 weeks ago. I then used a dry and clean microfibre cloth to rub it off after, just as outlined in the product instructions. My car windows looked nice and shiny and I was pleased with my work. The next day when I got up and into my car, it was still early and dark outside, there was a thin film of dew condensed onto my front screen and as usual I switched on my wipers to clear my screen. I was struck with disbelief when the wiper, as it moved across the screen left a thin film of very small water droplets on the screen which was impenetrable to light, I was completely blinded by this and I had to make an emergency stop! I can not recommend this product and I'm completely puzzled as to how it has come to receive any positive reviews. Don't buy this product it is dangerous, certainly when used on your front screen. Please note: when I had this experience I wrote to the seller the next day to inquire if I had possible used this product in the wrong way and the seller replied that he couldn't help because he had never used this product himslef before.

I purchased this product with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. While the product initially worked well at repelling water, it left behind a persistent residue on my windshield. This residue caused severe juddering and streaking when the wipers were used, especially in the rain, to the point that I could not drive the car whilst it was raining. I tried multiple methods to remove it, including 99% isopropyl alcohol and a well-known glass polish, but it was still stubbornly persistent. The only real fix was a very thorough abrasive cleaning process, which took a lot of time and effort. I also had to purchase new wiper blades. In summary, while the product might initially seem effective, the long-term consequences of trying to remove it are frustrating and time-consuming. I would recommend caution and considering other alternatives before purchasing.

I've used Rain X for years on a variety of different cars, and to get the best results, you need to apply it very carefully. Step 1 - move your windscreen wipers back from your windscreen (see below) - clean your windscreen, and I mean really clean it, I use a simple solution, 450ml of water in a spray gun, with 50ml of white vinegar and two drops of washing liquid (like fairy) - make sure you have cleaned every last inch of glass - using a lint free cloth, apply Rain X, put onto the cloth and apply in a circular motion - let the Rain X dry until it is cloudy - buff off with a clean cloth until it is no longer cloudy - rinse of with clean water (not with your washers!) - leave to really dry for a couple of hours - make sure after a couple of hours that there are no cloudy areas (if there is, clean cloth again) - clean the rubbers on your wipers before putting back down onto the windscreen (or replace them, Bosch Aerotwin are the best wipers to get) Now you will see that water simply beads and runs off the windscreen. If you get any clouds or streaks then you have either not cleaned the glass well enough, not buffed it off correctly or you are probably using old wipers with slight flaws in them that scratch through the the coating. I've never had problems with this, you just need to apply it correctly. It really makes a difference whether driving at 30mph or 70mph. I especially like it when overtaking lorries in the wet, rather then end up with spray that really reduces visibility, the water simply beads off and I can see with no difficulties. A great little upgrade to your car for next to nothing.

When cycling I use a helmet (in fact I have several) with a removeable Perspex visor. These invariable become badly scratched over a few months of use, and research suggested Rain-X might help with protecting them. I bought the smallest bottle that I could find, gave my current visor a good clean with lukewarm water, and applied a coat of Rain-X to both sides, following the instructions on the bottle. It seems to have worked reasonably well, the scratches are less prominent and the visor is looking a clearer when worn. I think this substance would probably work better on a new visor without scratches, and next time I buy another replacement helmet I will definitely try coating it before use. As well as improving the look of the visor, it also provides a basic slippery coating, which whilst it doesn't prevent some water beading when riding in the rain, it does at least make the mud and dirt much easier to remove with the wipe of a gloved hand. Good value for around a fiver, I really didn't need to apply much to one visor so a bottle will go a long way.

What was I thinking of when I applied this? Worst decision. It goes on easy and buffs up clear however the juddering is so bad and the glass smears between judders. Just awful. Can only assume it's the combination of my glass, my Bosch wiper blades and the product as others seem to like it. Am about to clay bar it to hopefully remove the horrible stuff. Never using again.

Applied this product after washing car and the cleaning windscreen with Invisible glass. The windscreen was clear until I applied rainX which left a thin layer of something resembling grease, I left this to dry and then tried to buff this layer which was not as easy as I thought it would be. I then rinsed any residue with clean water. Having washed and already dried the car this was an absolute waste of time.Product seems to work ok as it should, however it does leave a slight haze on the windscreen and other treated windows which I have to wipe. Since applying the product I have had switch off the auto wiper function, I think the RainX layer plays havoc with the rain sensor. The product works okay and lasts at least a couple of weeks - driving in continuous rain.

RainX is a great solution to get water beading and flowing off of your windscreen without disturbing your vision. Fairly easy to apply, I just clean the windscreen with glass cleaner and then apply this once the cleaner has completely dried. I applied in circular motion around all the car windows and buff off with another microfiber cloth. Initial results are amazing, it's like you've applied car wax onto your windscreen with it's water repellency. However, I've found that it starts to wear off after about 1-2 months and when it does wear it doesn't wear evenly - which makes sense as the wiper contact area will wear sooner. This uneven wear makes the windscreen harder to look through in heavy rain as it has a similar effect to streaking. I think I will continue to use this product a as the results are great, just a shame that it doesn't last as long as I'd like.

I have used this product many years ago so I know this works. I have only given this 3 stars because of how this was sent to me. Some of the product leaked inside the box and the plastic bag it was wrapped in. It was not kept upright when it’s sent to me and there was not an inner seal under the lid which supprised me. This product has many health warnings so I would expect at the very least a seal under the lid. I will buy this product again however, I will not buy it this way again.

over all a good product 1. if the same is applied on the windscreen, the same fades due to wiper usage ( which is obvious) you may need to have it applied a few times 2. but it works really well on the side windows and back windows water spots do not remain and water doesn't rest for long on the screen NB: i even used it on the bathroom glass works equally well :)

Ideal para repeler al agua dejo el coche en la calle y con las heladas no tengo que rascar a buena mañana, durabilidad con el coche en la calle 2-3 semana y vuelvo a poner en 2 minutos listo. Muy bien producto
