Work Really Well, Slightly Fiddly to Fit
As noted by others, these don't come with instructions - for the most part I didn't mind that as it's quite obvious how they work, but with the exception that no guidance was given as to whether to fit the arm to the casement (the "window") or the frame, however if you look at the images for the left hand product (the HS4318) it does show to fit the arm to the casement, which I definitely agree with as it makes it less fiddly to open the catch, note that I saw another reviewer advised fitting it the other way round, which I think would make it tricky to open. Generally all went fine with installing these, I had seen another reviewer had managed to fit them without a ladder (on a second floor window) - I personally wouldn't advise this! It's quite tricky and I think it will make it more difficult, I used a ladder and it was still a bit fiddly. As noted in one of the images, I had to put a small bit of a plastic in order to move the arm down a bit as it was contacting the pin at the top bit (the part like a mushroom) and wasn't closing well, I just used a bit of plastic trunking to do this, and I fitted it to the casement part purely because it makes it less visible. A good bit of advice would be to do a dummy run on a downstairs window because then it's less stressful to figure out all the alignment. If you have some double-sided sticky tape to temporarily mount the arm and pin that would be great as it would let you test closing it too. I did have a bit of an issue getting the bases of the pins to sit in the window frame - you'll notice that one of the images I've uploaded shows the base of the pin to have some slight damage - this is from having to use a screwdriver and a bit of hammering to get it in, and you might also notice a (admittedly very tiny) amount of deflection in the plastic frame, this is because the base of the pin was ever so slightly too large for the euro groove in the frame, and as such it got deflected a bit. Also of note is that the screws - one set (I can't remember if it was the left or right handed one) came with brass screws, whereas the other came with nickel screws, which I thought was a bit rubbish! I ended up using the brass screws for the arms fitted to the casement, as you can't see them, and used the nickel ones for the pins which you do see. All in all I do really like - a very very tidy way to child-proof your windows, and I don't think the installation was excessively fiddly (I think some fiddling is to be expected), but I'll mark down a star due to the screws and lack of instructions.

Self tapping screws and does the job perfectly
I got this to restrict a bathroom window ( a fire safety one so opens very wide ) to prevent my house cats getting out plus the wind taking hold of the window when open. Works perfectly . It doesn’t come with instructions however there are some illustrations in the product description, which I followed . Once I positioned the latches installation was easy . They are self tapping screws provided however I did pilot hole mine as it was difficult to get any purchase due to the position of mine . The latch is also easy to take off if you wish to have the window open wider ( which we need as it’s a window that is a fire escape option ) with it being spring loaded . Good value for money but does need some kind of instructions in the pack to improve the overall product

Functions ok, but
This is the second of this type of catch I have purchased. The first was of better quality. I have fitted this one successfully, and it does function. But unfortunately this purchase came without instructions, so you have to rely on the fotos provided by Amazon and your skills if you have never installed one of these before.

Piece of mind for children near opening windows.
These stop our windows opening all the way and give us some piece of mind that our little one is not going to make a break for it as soon as our backs are turned. They were a bit of a challenge to fit as the catch itself needed shimming up by about 3mm to stop it catching the frame. I used a couple of washers to achieve this. There isn't any instructions on how to fit so I slid the catch along - away from the hinge until the end of the hooked end of the catch was under the window opening casement and that's where I fitted it. The window should be open about 3 inches. Screw the catch down, using shims if necessary, and then fit the little post into the end of the catch and then close the window onto it. You should push the window open against the catch to its extent and this is where the post goes. You should be able to hold the post onto the bottom of the window opener in order to screw it in. I have attached a couple of pics and a video to hopefully explain what I mean and how it works.

Perfect simple little safety lock
These are easy enough to figure out how to install. However for children safety I would not install them on the bottom of the window as all the child has to do is push it down at a certain spot and the window will open. I installed mine at the top of the window and I feel calm now that my autistic son will not manage to fall out. Also for safety I put the opening on the actual window so it is less visible. The nice thing is if it is a rented house you are not leaving any noticeable marks on the frame, you can remove it after and take with you to the next one. Make sure you get the correct side lock for your window, just use the diagram on the sale page.

UNSAFE QUALITY, DO NOT BUY
This product is pathetically UNSAFE. The tab which the mechanism hooks on to just fell off the base after installation. There was nothing holding it there. Whatever pressing mechanism they used to join the parts clearly didn't work on this one. So I suspect there will be a number of these products with the same manufacturing defect. This defect renders the whole mechanism useless, but what's worse is that you won't notice it until it just comes off when opening the window. I'm just glad I tested it before my kids did.
