Fantastic fountain pen at a very affordable price
This pen is excellent. It comes nicely packaged and is very stylish. The weight and balance feels comfortable and luxurious. The included ink cartridge loaded effortlessly. After drawing a couple of circles the ink began the flow and even writing with my left hand produced smooth script. I highly recommend this pen as a gift for one’s self or another.

Phenomenal pen for the money
I've been using fountain pens as my everyday writing instrument in the office for something like eight years now. I don't know how many different pens I've tried and set aside as unsatisfactory. I maintain about five or six that I will rotate through, one per day. But this pen is the first one I've gotten in a very long time that made me reluctant to put it on the dresser and pick up the next in the stack. I've only been using this pen for a short while, so I can't yet speak to long term use.For the money; the weight, build quality, ink flow, and styling are all far better than they have a right to be. I couldn't tell you how they compare to truly high end pens, as the nicest pen I have is a Lamy 2000 (which I really like as well), but for $40, this blows away any other pen in my rotation (except for the Lamy).Bottom line, I highly recommend picking up one of these pens. I don't believe you'll find a better one in the same price range.

Beautiful pen
Beautiful pen. I write very small, so I need a fine point. This pen is awesome for that. Customer service was also super helpful assisting me with getting the ink cartridge loaded correctly.

WOW
WOW! What a treat. This is my first fountain pen and I can’t believe I waited 60 years to get one. It’s a true pleasure writing with this pen. I got my wife one for her birthday; she has beautiful handwriting; she is going to love it!Five stars.

Smooth, Elegant Writer
This is my second Ellington fountain pen, my first one mysteriously disappeared after someone “borrowed” it (a testament to how nice it is). I genuinely love the way it writes. The medium nib delivers smooth, consistent ink flow and glides effortlessly across the page. It really does feel like a luxury pen at a great price point.A quick note: if you write with a light hand, you might notice the top strokes of your letters aren’t as full or bold as the downward ones. It’s not a flaw, just something to be aware of with this nib. If you have a heavier hand, though, it writes beautifully. The set includes both cartridges and a refillable converter, which is a great bonus. I only wish the instructions were printed as having to scan a QR code to figure out the ink setup was a minor annoyance.Still, an excellent pen that I’d happily recommend, and clearly, I already bought it twice!

The Perfect Gift for Someone You Hate
"Outshine all other writing instruments with the unparalleled elegance and performance of an Ellington Pen, your new prized possession."That's a bold claim. Before I chucked all my Mountblancs in the trash, I decided to at least do a little side-by-side comparison. Boy howdy, am I glad I did.I have a lot of fountain pens and a lot of experience with fountain pens. The least expensive cost exactly one dollar. The most expensive ones more than $800 (don't tell my wife please). I have everything from the newest of the new to one that just turned 100 years old recently. Gold nibs, steel nibs, cursive italics, flexes, stubs, you name it.This Ellington pen, I was promised, was better than all of them. I intended to do a head to head comparison with one of my MB 146s. I wanted to test nib smoothness, line width, ink flow, balance, the works. I inked both pens with the same ink, Noodler's Black, a good quality ink that performs well in most pens on most papers. I was ready for the showdown. The Ellington pen didn't write. Not much anyway. I got a few black streaks on the paper if I pressed on the nib a little bit, but as for writing a word, or even a single letter - forget it.It did not outshine all other writing instruments. It did not outshine a single one. It is not functional as a pen. It is trash. If you want an inexpensive fountain pen, buy a Pilot Metropolitan, TWSBI Eco, Platinum Preppy, Parker IM, Majohn, Jinhao, or (if you're feeling lucky) a Lamy Sarafi, to name a few.Or maybe buy this Ellington pen as a gift for that special someone to let him know just how little you think of him.
