Eton Poultry Galvanised Wall Mounted Feed/ Grit Hopper, 2.5 Kg We have looked around for poultry feeders and tried a number of different types, this one suits our needs perfectly, it isn't large but holds a good amount of feed and the design stops the chickens or pests taking too much at a time. This means we can go away for a few days and leave the birds knowing they have plenty of food. We bought a second one so we can have a variety of food. The image doesn't show how the feeder works but the lid opens from the rear to reveal a large opening for filling. The plastic green part fills the base meaning the bottom of the feeder is waterproof. 2 keyhole mounting holes in the upper rear makes for simple wall mounting at a perfect height for your birds. All in all a good product at a very good price - £13.98 when we bought in September 2016.

Great feeder, but no good for outside. No assembly required, simply fasten to mesh or other fixtures, using keyhole style fitting. Well built and sturdy, but one little problem, Read other reviews about water getting into the lid, and does need to be modified. First day of using had a puddle in the bottom of the feeder, from the small gap between lid and back plate, so stuck a piece of plastic as an overhang along the back.. 2nd day, had more water in the bottom, this was due to the rain running down the front and into the food trough, so another adjustment was made in the form of a piece of correx over the top, week has passed and no more visible moisture. Other than this one small "modifiyable" glitch, a very good feeder, holding a small amount of feed, but enough as a secondary feeder or for grit/other feed. Would highly recommend though using this as an indoor feeder or one that has FULL shelter from the rain.

Simple design, well made, delivered quickly, works perfectly inside our coop. Probably not suitable for outside use as unlikely to be waterproof.

Awful - rain goes in easily and a wet mess then has to be constantly cleaned out.

It's not often I post reviews and generally have always had great products from Amazon however in ordering this for my chickens (a small flock of 10) this product is rubbish for layers pellets. Ther don't feed through properly therefore defeating the object of easy feeding

Good Points: It's strong and resilient vs Plastic ones You can put lots of feed in there and the chickens used to eat out of there Bad Points: It cut me a few times as it's razor sharp (like paper type cut) not waterproof but that's fine doesn't work well for sick chickens, as I have one but it doesn't seem to want to eat out of this any more as slugs are getting in all over it, although i attribute this to the slugs more as I think it's just gone off it. hard to get the slugs out since they hide well inside the food (again, our fault for having slugs) fearful of moving it in case i cut myself on it. Only 2 chickens or 1 fat chicken can eat out of this at a time. Could be bigger and wider, maybe with a handle so I don't cut myself holding it. Conclusion: I'd say it's quite useful but it could be better especially less sharp and maybe waterproof, for a sick chicken or not so well chicken I would use a plastic container as it don't seem to like eating from this. It's an okay feeder.

Great feeder

A great item, just what I wanted. It is not totally waterproof but I will be making a small shelter over the chickens 'feeding station' so that should not be a problem for long. Some edges are slightly sharp but I don't think they are sharp enough to cut. The chickens were sceptical at first as I have been using round plastic feeders, but they seem to have gotten the hang of using it now. overall I think this product is great especially when you consider how little it costs compared to other galvanised feeders.
