I waited a long time to write this review to see how these dishes performed. They are an excellent weight, substantial but not ridiculously heavy. They do not get crazy hot in the microwave. I did sand the unglazed terracotta bottoms when I received them. They are too rough to safely stack on each other IMO. But it only took a few minutes of passing the rough ones over some sandpaper and they were smooth. The glaze is beautiful, does not chip or peel and looks expensive. Sizes of each dish are just right. I'm very glad I got them.

UPDATE 1/14/24After my initial review (see below), the seller asked me what they could do. Due to the flaws, I asked for replacement pasta bowls for the two I had to throw away. At first, I thought it was a scam because of the email account that was provided to me. Then to my surprise, a full set of replacement bowls arrived in the mail. They are perfect and match my set exactly.It's been several months and we use the plates and bowls every day. They go into the microwave and dishwasher and are used by teenagers regularly. They are still in great condition and nothing has broken. I will purchase products from this company in the future and highly recommend it to everyone._________________Initial Review November 2023I ordered two sets of these dishes in October to prepare for Thanksgiving dinner at our house. The dishes are sized wonderfully- the large dinner plates, the small dessert plate, the bowl, and the pasta bowl all work together in size and importance. The problem is that one set of my pasta bowls, which we use for salads at Thanksgiving, has chips in the side. It looks like a manufacturing defect. My unprofessional guess is that the spot that they end creating the bowl at is glazed over at the very end and I have two bowls in my set that have chips where it ends and wasn’t glazed properly. (See picture)I love the dishes for their color and size. However, I no longer have a full set due to the chips in two of the bowls and am very disappointed. I’m not sure what I’ll do this Thanksgiving to make sure my table looks good and everyone has a bowl. So disappointing-

We love these plates, they are gorgeous and very durable, but they are heavy.

I was a little disappointed when I opened the box and took the first plate out, because it didn't look the same as the photo. I understand that pottery glazes are different with every piece or batch that is fired, but my dishes have round dots of colour in a pale green glaze and the photo shows a more overall speckled appearance and MUCH richer green colouration (which I love.) Buuuut, they are still pretty, I like (not love) the colour, and so I decided to keep them. If you are thinking about buying these, keep this in mind. AND know that they are stoneware so they are are very heavy! Not having had stoneware in years I had forgotten how heavy it is. The large bowls will be great for curries, pasta, cobb salads, stir fries and such. The smaller bowls are perfect for a side salad, fruit, whatever you want a smaller serving of, but they are still a really good size. Food looks wonderful on the green glaze, it enhances certain colours and makes your food look beautiful!

Happy to have ordered and received just what I expected! Very nice dinner set. Colors and combination is beautiful. Some very minor imperfections on a couple of plates that I don’t mind at all. Makes it look like hand made :). I ordered a first set for 4 to make sure I liked the quality, then ordered the second set plus 4 pasta plates. All arrived very well wrapped and quickly!I recommend!!

I was looking for a durable plate set that was also aesthetically pleasing and this is perfect! No broken plates or bowls arrived either so that’s a win!

I dig these plates, plate bowls for lack of a better description haha. They’re definitely affordable and a good dish set is essential for anyone looking to level up as an adult and enjoy their home space more :)

UPDATE: I had tried to contact the seller multiple ways, phone, email, Amazon seller, mfr website contact page. Of all of that I got one reply in an email, saying that they would credit my account for a set of dishes, which actually doesn’t allow me to complete the sets I purchase (and I NEVER RECEIVED this credit). I bought 2 sets, and 5 small plates broke in less than 2 weeks time while being lifted out of a dishwasher or in a microwave, implying pre-existing fractures that were missed in quality control. Today, I pull a large plate out of my dishwasher and it fell apart in my hand! It has been less than 6 months and I have received no Customer service restitution and wasted $190 trying to have 8 place settings for my family. This is ridiculous. The plates are just what I wanted, and I really wish I could recommend purchasing them. Now I don’t even have enough small plates for my immediate family let alone guests. I don’t think the seller really cares. I read in other reviews when there were issues that the company was gracious and replaced damaged pieces. I was hopeful but did NOT receive that courtesy. I can’t even buy single items from the set if I wanted to. I have never put them in the oven, even though it is supposed to be oven safe. I cannot imagine there would be anything left if I tried. I have a pubic servant position, which does not pay well. It was a big deal for me to spend the money, and I was very excited about the purchase. Unfortunately, this was not a good investment. I do not recommend you even trying despite how much you might like the design.I have had these plates for 1 week. No complaints, no scratches (which was my biggest concern being stoneware). They are true to the description and I love having the different types of bowls. Today two of the small plates were pulled out of the dishwasher and stocked to put away and suddenly broke into pieces. It was so odd and very disappointing. For plates that can withstand the heat of the oven, they should not have an issue being in the heat of a dishwasher. I bought 2 sets to have a set of 8 for everything, now I’m already down to 6 small plates. I’ve tried to find seller information but can’t find it here on Amazon. I hope someone will be able to replace the plates. That’s a lot of money for just a couple uses.After originally submitting this I noticed a crack in another small plate 😩 seller please contact me!

I am happy with purchase in general but I especially LOVE the large shallow bowls. I really wish I could order extra of those! (plus I already broke one.)

This is a beautiful set of dishes. I love the functional composition of this set. Every piece is multifunctional.

Got this set as a gift for a friend who saw the green glaze and fell in love with them. Coincidentally, she also got the larger version of the set from someone else and now has *many* of these dishes and is super pleased. The dishes are indeed lovely! They're well made, sturdy, and have a cozy feel. The delivery was prompt. Interestingly enough, while these were tightly packed in lots of cardboard, there was no bubble wrap, which I think played a part in why two of the items arrived damaged—a dessert plate was broken beyond repair and one of the pasta bowls was chipped. I immediately contacted the Vancasso customer service team to see about getting those two items replaced, which was an easy and straightforward process; the person I chatted to was polite and helpful, and the bowl was taken care of right away (the dessert plate wasn't in stock in this part of the world at the time, but a replacement was arranged).Overall, this was a very nice present for my friend, and my experience ordering it was a positive one!

Il servizio è molto bello e resistente..è da un po che li uso e lavati sempre in lavastoviglie e sono sempre splendenti.Avevo temore per l'imballaggio,invece tutto perfetto,era impossibile che venissero danneggiati durante il trasporto perchè era molto acurato.La cosa che mi ha piaciuto fra le tante,cioè non solo il design che nella sua semplicità il servizio è meraviglioso,sino che non si attaccano i residui di cibo...prima di metterli in lavastoviglie li risciacquo(lo faccio con tutto) è sembrano appena lavati.La grandezza è ottimale...quei piatti piccoli che si prendono in negozio li ho sempre odiati quindi questo modello fa proprio il caso mio.Non mi resta dirvi che potete comprarli tranquillamente,sono bellissimi e funzionali.Mi piacerebbe trovare le tazze di colazione de lo stesso colore...ma pazienza...

set molto bello, scelto per il colore e robustezza che confermo essere notevole. non 4 stelle perché non si adattano a tutti i tipi di scolapiatti, (ad esempio troppo stretti non entrano bene e non stanno in piedi).
