Absolutely no problem……..that is why I bought it.

I don't believe it does. I bought the one I have a couple of months back and I haven't really had a chance to operate it yet.

Can the LCD light display be turned off for nighttime listening, so light does not disturb sleep?

It doesn't look like you can turn off the LCD light display. You can set a timer that will turn off the LCD light display/sound system after a certain period of time.
