I only have one USB-C port (USB 3.2 gen 2x1) on my PC (10Gbps). I have six more USB-A (USB 3.2 gen 2x1) ports (10Gbps). USB-C version 3.2 gen 2x1 only use one set of wires in a USB-C cable. USB-C version 3.2 gen 2x2 use both sets of wires in a USB-C cable. (That is why USB-C cables are invertable. They have two identical sets of wires in each cable.) USB-A cables only have one set of wires. These adapters only use one of the two sets of wires in a USB-C cable. They must be used at the PC USB port. (Not at the USB device.) You may also have to invert the USB-C cable at the adapter if your USB-C device does not work. Most USB-C cables are rated for 10Gbps. A lot of USB-A cables are only rated for 5Gbps. All of my USB ports are rated for 10Gbps. These adapters should allow me to obtain my full 10Gbps speed from my USB-A ports using USB-C devices.

I have a computer that can appreciate these little helpers. As adapters' go, these have performed quite well for the price.

My laptops and computers are all like 8+ years old so none of them have any USB-C ports. I needed this to convert a USB-C male connector to insert into a USB-A 3.0 female port for data (not just charging) and it worked flawlessly.

I purchased this so I could use my Samsung USB-C memory stick in my vehicle's USB-A female slot; once loaded, speed is as fast as my USB-C memory stick. This works very well.

I keep these with my YubiKeys for devices that don't have USB C.

Just what I needed.

With so many dongles/adapters out there, I keep finding those that will charge but no data transfer or vice versa. With this one, I was able to use it with my memory card reader and transfer data anywhere between 2 GB/s to 10 GB/s from a cloud drive to my local drive, and charge my iPad through a USB-C to Lightning at more than 2.5A @ 5V on a QC power brick. It does get warm/hot to the touch when it pulls more than 2A on a steady pace after a while. From a rating perspective, I knocked down 1 star from 5 star to a 4 star product because of the potential heat when use in a charging situation.
