Review: Yes, these last longer than conventional ice packs. Recommended. - After using these in a not so hot June/2026 in southern Ontario, I do have an opinion on this product. I’ve typically used ice packs from hardware stores and premium brands such as Yeti. I find they are all similar. I tried the Arctic Ice Tundra brand, which claims longer frozen life, but wasn’t overly impressed. So I have Cooler Shock a try. I can definitely say, these last longer. I have often thrown similar sized Yeti packs into my cooler along with these Cooler Shocks. The Yeti’s turn back into liquid form, while the Cooler Shock become like soft mushy ice, but still emanating plenty of cold power from their packs. I’ve repeated this test several times, also making sure both brands of packs had been frozen for days, to keep things fair. So, I am impressed with this product. I can’t say this is a scientific breakthrough of sorts, or should be newsworthy. But, the Cooler Shocks last a little longer than comparably sized cooler packs from other brands I have tried, especially Yeti, which is one of my preferred go-to brands just because it’s a quality made ice packs. As such, I can’t do much else but recommend these. Granted the product puts you in a situation where you have to activate the function on a one time only basis by adding the correct amount of water per pack. But they do include a cool little funnel with the packs you get. When they arrive, they are dry and empty of liquid. They contain some crystal -like substance in each bag, heard by shaking it. One filled with tap water to the correct volume, they have made a clever cap that permanently seals the nozzle (twice actually) to prevent water from escaping. I like the sizes they come in. The small guys are perfect for small lunch style hand carry coolers and of course the large ones are the ones you put in your cooler chests for camping or the like. Whether these were invented by a scientist, or entrepreneur, I don’t really care, as long as they remain safe to use and work longer as I have experienced. They do last longer from my experience and when they do eventually become soft, are absolutely fantastic to use as ice-packs on injuries against different parts of our bodies, as they can be shaped to the contours around bone and the curves and shapes we all have. Just wrap in a microfiber cloth. I’m giving these my thumbs up and am recommending them.
Review: Flight attendant approved ice packs! - These ice packs are truly phenomenal. I’m a flight attendant so I’m always on the go with long hours and sometimes hotels without fridges. So far when I’ve used them they’re still frozen solid and ice cold after 12-15 hours of work, my food stays frozen!! The other day I had a hotel with a fridge but it didn’t quite get as cold as id like it to so I popped my food in the fridge with the ice packs and after a 12 hour day and 12 hours of being in the hotel fridge 3/5 of my ice packs are still frozen solid and cold! I don’t think I’d ever buy anything else. I hope they do come out with maybe some that are half the size of the small so I can put it in smaller places but highly recommend these for those working long days with no way to refrigerate!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long do these stay frozen for ?**
A: Mine have stayed frozen for approximately 9-10 hrs. I left food in the cooler, which was well-insulated, and it which was still cold when I got home. This was kept in office setting with temps in room in the 70’s.

**Q: When you say that this item is colder than ice, what does that mean? ice can be cooled to any temperature unless i'm mistaken. a rock can be 18*f.**
A: Karæthon's answer is correct. Freezing or melting overcomes the "latent heat of fusion" which is about the same heat as is required to raise the temperature of (for example) liquid water by almost 80°F, or frozen water (ice) by about 150°F. So an ice pack in a cooler will spend most of its time at it's melting point. Once it's all melted, the subsequent temperature rise will be very quick.

**Q: Are these reusable?**
A: They are reusable. There is an initial "just add water" setup to change the dry powder to gel, then you throw them in the freezer for several hours and they are ready for use.

**Q: If I were to use two of these together, would I have similar cooling capacity as one of the medium-sized packs?**
A: Not positive of that but I am amazed at how well these things work. 4 of them keeps a large cooler super cold.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High-Quality and Cost-Effective Cooler Ice Packs - A Must-Have!
*by A***R on July 31, 2023*

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I purchased the Cooler Shock Reusable Ice Packs with my own money, and my review was not solicited. These ice packs have proven to be a game-changer for keeping my cooler contents chilled and eliminating the hassle of leaky ‘blue ice’ blocks. The quality of these ice packs is top-notch. Though they require a simple assembly, the package includes everything needed, such as a funnel, rubber stoppers, and caps, to make the process effortless. Once assembled, they freeze solid overnight, ensuring optimal cooling performance throughout the day. What impressed me the most is how well they retain their coldness. Even when they thaw to a gel state, they continue to cool effectively, maintaining the temperature of the contents in the cooler. This reliability means I no longer have to worry about buying bags of ice every time I go on a trip or have a picnic. Using the Cooler Shock Reusable Ice Packs has not only saved us money on ice purchases but also eliminated the mess and inconvenience caused by leaky traditional ice blocks. In conclusion, these Cooler Shock Reusable Ice Packs are a fantastic investment for anyone who needs a reliable and long-lasting cooling solution for their cooler. The ease of assembly, exceptional cooling performance, and overall quality make them stand out from other options on the market. If you want to keep your cooler contents perfectly chilled without any fuss, I highly recommend giving these ice packs a try!
