It is a raw chestnut honey
The only complaint I have is itās not always available when I run out of it.

Most delicious honey ever!
This is the most flavorful homey I have ever tried! Rich and smoky and nuanced. I originally bought it to make a cocktail clled Education Sentimentale (after the book by Flaubert), but Iāve used it to make glaze for salmon, a dressing for mango & avocado salad, in tea...anything I can think of!

It's a bitter taste, but I love it
It's a little bit bitter but it's really good. I love it! I use it in my coffee in the morning

Overpriced at Amazon
I just bought two 8.8-oz (250-gram) jars of this honey, for roughly one dollar per ounce ($8.75 per jar, from Yummy Bazaar in New Jersey, online order). The jars were made of glass and, as another reviewer pointed out, there is no safety seal under the lid, nor around the edge of the lid (the lid, however, was so tight that I doubt very much anyone had opened it before). The taste is much stronger than that of the three other chestnut honey I had tried before: Piccolo Renato, Rigoni di Asiago, and Mira Nova (chestnut honey from the Republic of Georgia). I am not sure that I like it; my favorite so far is the one from Mira Nova, which I bought from Amazon, and when I looked for other suppliers, I found that Amazon had the best price. I find it absolutely the best, if you like chestnut honey, which is slightly bitter, not sweet like some flower honeys; if you do, my advice is to buy the bigger jars (two jars to get the very best price), and transfer the honey to glass jars when you receive them. Now, before posting this review, I am going to have another spoonful or two of the Maison Peltier's product to see whether I should stay with four stars (Mira Nova gets five) or increase my rating.-------Four stars it is -- I am already getting used to it (I may come back when I am done with the first jar, and change the rating).----June 27, 2020 - Update: Make that five stars.

chestnut honey is known for being strong and bitter, this one is exactly as expected
excellent honey, strong taste, as expected. The chestnut tree belongs to the same family as beeches and oaks, so chestnut honey is known for its strong aromatic taste and a bitter finish/ after taste. If you like smooth honey, go shop for another kind. This one is as it should be.

Full of ants! š š š
Ugh. I wish I had read the reviews. This product arrived unsealed and apparently opened or compromised in some way. The jar was full of ants. I called for replacement and was redirected to the seller who redirected me to amazon. So am I stuck with it?

NO SEAL! COULD HAVE BEEN ALREADY OPENED!
I love the taste of this honey but the jar needs a seal to prevent opening before delivery to customers! It's not safe to eat something from a jar that had no safety seal. So I probably won't buy again!
