ok
Amazingly, there was something more than sex, lust and intimacy in this book! Elle is a new author for me; so I was not expecting anything higher from this, but sure as hell was taken by surprise when the book showed the struggles and strifes of Allie and Dean. I have not read the entire series, but this is the first one! Coming back to the sex scenes, why is it I feel that authors have started showing just explicitness with no spurning the yarn of sensuality and hotness in them?

Keeps getting better and better.
This was so good! It was addicting and fun. I loved Dean and Allie together. They were perfect for each other. So refreshing! I liked the plot a lot too.

Dean Heyward-di Laurentis has totally charmed me!
I've read all the other books in the series and I read The Goal before reading this book because I wasn't sure if Allie was a good choice for Dean especially because in the other books she was always mentioned with Sean. (her now ex boyfriend) "Yeah, right. Dean Heyward Di Laurentis is the biggest flirt on the planet. Every time I see him he's trying to get in my pants. And I can't even feel special about it, because he tries to get in everyone's pants." So, Allie recently broke up with her ex but he wants her back and threatens to show up at her dorm uninvited. Hannah & Garret offer her to stay at their house with Dean & Tucker so that she was safe and she takes up on that offer. Now, it's no surprise that Dean was a manwho so, when Allie showed up at their doorstep, Dean was "pretty occupied." Garrett and Hannah warn Dean not to make any moves on Allie since she was going through a breakup but Dean being Dean, does not back off which leads them to drink off their ases and they wake up tangled in bed together in the morning. "Seriously, just find yourself a rebound." Dean whips up his arm. "I volunteer as a tribute." A laugh flies out of me. "Dream on." Allie wants them to forget their hookup but Dean has no plans about it. In short, Dean was persistent and Allie couldn't resist him and gives in. So they start to hookup behind keeping it a secret. From that point onwards, I started feeling that their relationship was just physical. Sure, they would talk after it but, I just didn't feel their connection until 26/28 chapters later. "Get over yourself", I mutter. "I'd be wet if any guy was rubbing up against me." "Bull.F'ing.Sht. It's me. You want me." I loved Dean. He was cocky, funny, smart, charming, understanding, easygoing, sometimes a douche but he could be pretty sweet when he wanted to be. He was the only male character in the series without some kind of past trauma or emotional baggage. Most importantly, he was aware of his privileges and didn't brag around about his wealth. He had some pretty rich but loving and understanding parents and two great siblings. Which brings me to Summer. Seriously that girl was something else! I'm starting the Briar U series and I'm so excited to read her book. I loved Dean the moment he started coaching the Hastings elementary hockey team. The way he was kind, patient and understanding with those children, especially Dakota made me melt for him ;-p "Are you in love with him?" "No. I don't have that squishy feeling when it comes to him. Not like I had with..." (I trail off. I was going to say, not like I had with Sean but I can't remember the last time I felt soft and warm towards Sean.) Allie on the other hand, I didn't love her but I liked her. She was a relationship kind of girl through and through and I respect her for making it clear to Dean. What bugged me was that the blurb says that she had no clue what to do after college but in the book, she was pretty much sorted out that she wanted to pursue her acting career. The only confusion she had was that she was picky about her roles and didn't want to settle for playing a character she disliked. She was sassy, open minded, down to earth, could make her decisions on her own and had a sense of humour. But, her tendency to call herself a slt bugged me. Ngl, I thought she was somewhat clingy. "It floors me, how in three short months, that's what Allie Hayes has become. She's everything to me." Overall, I liked the story. It wasn't boring but in the middle I was losing interest and then the bomb dropped. Then Dean spiralled out of control but eventually, it lead him to pursue his choice of career and everything settled down. And what even the last chapter was about lol. That cliffhanger would have unsettled me if I hadn't read The Goal beforehand. But, I was really entertaining to see the whole gang again. Garret & Wellsy are always a delight! The bromance between the boys was seriously real. They were so supportive and protective over eachother. It was heartwarming. Now that I've read the entire series and some books from the Briar U series, I can't wait for The Legacy to be out!
