I put this into my 2008 N54 powered 335i e90. So far, its working flawlessly, but there are some catches before you install. The bolts that are shipped with it aren't very good, and some had defective threads (were visible messed up/wouldn't thread). I opted after a few tries to remove ALL the bolts it shipped with and install my original BMW bolts.Second, I took one look at the gasket it was shipped with, and threw it out. Its of a very poor quality material (of which I've never seen another automotive gasket like it, as a 10 year professional mechanic), and it because of the difficulty of this job would recommend an OEM gasket such as Mahle or Victor-reinz.Lastly, I don't know how much I trust the PCV setup on this one. I removed it and installed my own, which is the upgraded aluminum piece you can find from various venders for the N54. Because the PCV is a known problem on these cars, this is the best time to fix it.Overall, the most expensive and most important part, the valve cover, is holding up great on my modified motor, and will continue to track its progress. No leaks, no cracks, no strange surging issues, etc.

The media could not be loaded.  As other reviews have mentioned get a different gasket and keep your stock bolts.

If you’re looking for a quick and cheap alternative, this is probably the best option. If you work on your car yourself, it’s still a better option than the expensive OEM cover. Doesn’t take long to change. Lasted 1 year before leaking again.If you’re not mechanically inclined and have to pay a shop to get this job done, spend the extra money on the OEM valve cover. Or you will be paying for labor twice.I installed this valve cover November 2019. Started smelling oil again Nov/Dec 2020. Finally pulled the car into the garage Jan 2021 since the smell started getting much stronger. Valve cover is leaking. Time to be replaced again.Make sure to buy oem bolts. The bolts that come with the cover are soft and will strip.

I knew my valve cover needed to be replaced like every other part on a bmw because they are so poorly made. I wasn't going to spend the 500 plus on oem because all the OEM parts on most BMW s are garbage anyways so this worked and worked well. I changed plugs coils and a few other things when in there. Make sure to clean where this seats very well and check the back left corner because they where mine was leaking the most. Took about an hour and a half by myself longest part was cleaning everything up before placing the new cover on. Did have one new bolt break but my old man extracted it out in minutes and I just used one from my old cover. That is the only issue as mentioned before the bolts are noticeably softer.

So far so good, only a few hundred miles on itReplaced OEM cover which I managed to crack when removingUsed new OEM BMW gasket rather then included one...obvious quality difference.Also pulled OEM bolts from old cover and reused them due to other reviews here mentioning bolt quality. Noticed the same thing, saw some threads which didn't appear to be fully cutSeemed to be a different idle sound with this cover, probably not quite as thickInstalled RB PCV instead of the one includedGreat price

It is a good copy of the genuine BMW article. To my ears, the valve cover seems a bit less sound deadened than the original and there was a minor issue in that the clips moulded into the valve cover to take the hard vacuum lines were not copied well and would not catch the vacuum lines, so I had to run soft vacuum lines around the radiator hose cable tied instead, but this is a very minor niggle.

i would like to say it's the best alternative to oem. Keep in mind the gasket that came with its flimsy just use a bmw or oem gasket. Over all i'm very happy with my purchase. Amazon is the best second to one in terms of shipping time.
