Compared this against other options from big box stores and the price made us roll the dice - this was 25% the price we could find locally.Setup took under ten minutes and barely needed the instructions - filling the base weights (not included) with water took longer than actually assembling the umbrella. The cloth was attached, LED lights were installed - only needed to assemble the crossbar base, drop on the top and clip in the solar charger and crank.Opening an closing may be difficult if you are very short, or for a child. But the weight and height was easily manageable for me and my 5'2" wife to open and close without assistance. Make sure to raise the arm before opening, and close the umbrella before lowering!Appearance is exactly as photographed, the color (we got green) is just as bright as the pictures. We've only had it for around a week so time will tell how well it holds the color.Solar lights are the perfect brightness and color. The lights on the arms are great for mood lighting and the center light is enough to eat by without resorting to flood lights. They are a warm yellow color, similar to a standard light-bulb - not the cooler blue you get with many LED lights. Not so yellow they look like bug lights.After it arrived we did have a couple issues with the first umbrella we received so make sure to inspect yours completely before assembly. The pole that slides over the base had been bent at the factory (no paint scratches or cosmetic damage), so we contacted the seller. In under a day (over the weekend!) the inquiry was answered by simply shipping us a new unit, no other questions asked. Check for this as well as any cracks in the dome light, which has a plastic cover, as well as the power connector from the pole to the solar charger. Both had minor cracks in the first unit, but no problems with the second.

I bought a 10', red with lights and at this moment I am looking for a better solar panel. The lights are real dim and do not hold for very long period of time. But the panel is located on the top with one lead line that plugs in. I was wondering if you could buy a stronger solar panel. Had I know about how very little use you actual get from this particular model I would not have bought it.One good thing I can say about this one is the pedestals. You don't have to use sand, they fill up with water, there are four of them and fill those up and it works very well. To move it just unscrew the top and let water run out, its real easy and good on your back.

Just got this umbrella last week. After much agony about what kind to get we settled on this style. Its great, works easy. Construction looks sturdy and fabric too. Of course we had to get the weights for the stand, but just filled with water and it is sturdy in light summer breeze so far. I do not leave it open when I am not around.I have to update my review today, When we received the umbrella, I flicked on the lights to test during the day. They worked. Then at night they did not, but I never checked if the switches for the solar lights were in off possition. After contacting the company about lights not coming on, I realized they were in ON position all the time and draining the battery. My fault for not checking more closely. So now after a day of charging in OFF position, they work great in both modes. I love them! And I am so happy I did not have to return because of this. I hope with good care this umbrella will serve us well for years.

My 3 month old flame&shade umbrellas are defective (or just generally horrible quality). Flame&Shade say this is normal for over $400 worth of umbrellas!! They offer no help or refund. They are always closed, which is why they have extreme fading on the seams (see pictures) and have only been used 3 or 4 times. So unless you want to buy umbrellas every 3 months, look elsewhere.

Parts arrived damaged so we had to ship back and forth a couple of times, but we do like the umbrella. For the price it's worth maybe a little extra work. The stand isn't strong enough to hold the umbrella by itself so be sure to buy the additional suggested 4 part base - AND fill it with sand, not water.

Shipping was late box came open and missing pieces. Very bad experience. Came dirty and a stain on umbrella, not balanced at all so if you dont get weights it will not stand at all.

Love this umbrella and got it after doing a lot of research. First, the shade material is very high quality and the navy blue color is just what I was looking for. Very sturdy, easy to use and the lights are fun! The solar light in the center of the umbrella was broken when it arrived but they sent me a replacement immediately. Really good customer service as a bonus.

This umbrella is really nice. Very nice coverage and the LED solar lighting is a nice touch. It arrived with the light in the center cracked which is why I knocked the star. But other than that I am happy with the product.
