I got these for my son who says he definitely wants to play percussion when he starts music/band in school next year. (Insert eyeroll.) There was zero chance of us getting a full drum kit, let alone 'a' drum for him for reasons to numerous to type out. We were thinking of an electronic roll up drum pad, but that still requires a large surface to play on and we are tight on space as it is. So, enter these air drumsticks.I have to admit, I'm impressed with not only the technology behind these, but also the performance of them. Locational drums/cymbals is surprisingly good. The sound produced is also fairly accurate. There is a bit of a learning curve remembering the angles that the sticks need to be to activate the expected sound, however. Not seeing physical objects you are supposed to be hitting is a bit of a challenge. Also the lack of feedback from hitting said physical object is also something that adds to the difficulty.So, I'm a bit torn. These sticks are impressive and are far more accurate than I expected them to be. At the same time, it is really isn't like the real thing. Needing the feel for object location, I feel these are definitely more than a toy, but not much of the experience will transfer over to a physical drum kit. These air drumsticks are probably best suited to either entry into the world of percussion or for veterans looking for a versatile means of drumming anywhere/anytime.

This set of virtual drum sticks... meaning virtual drums, the sticks are real... function basically the same way as the AeroBand Pocket Drums 2 function. There are a couple differences. This set has an amp/speaker and the foot pedals (pads) clip onto your shoe and connect wirelessly. The AeroBand version has several different drum "kits" (sounds) to select from, this one seems to only have one option. AeroBand's sticks are more like actual drumsticks, these are hexagonal rods that taper from around 15mm diameter down to 10mm.The built in speaker sounds like a small, low powered speaker. They do sound a lot better through headphones.Out of the box I was experiencing the same issues as I did with the AeroBand set. I was "hitting" the same spots but the drums seemed to be moving around. -I would maintain a consistent movement, and eventually the drum would relocate to another place in space.This set does have instructions for calibrating to your geomagnetic location. It helps a little, but the hi-hat will start to make the tom sound after a short time. After hitting the air all around you it is possible to find the hi-hat again. The snare seemed to stay in the same location (pretty much) while the hi-hat started out on my left side, just to the left of the snare, and would end up either up by my right shoulder or way around my left side. They did get better after I calibrated the sticks, a little better....The clip on foot pads are great in concept, no wires to plug in, no button to be tapped with your foot, and they are a lot smaller. Unfortunately they are a bit too sensitive. I clipped them on my shoes and started (attempting) to play. I have been playing bass and guitar for over 30 years. The goal this year is to learn drums and keyboard. I started with the one simple beat I know. I was getting two kick drup hits, one when I lifted my heal up, one when it went down. Same with the hi-hat.I am really liking this tech, and I want it to work. Maybe that is selfish, because my music studio is only 8' by 12' and I don't have space for a drum kit...I'm going to try calibrating the sticks a few more times and I think I will try hanging strings from a rod that will represent the locations of the invisible virtual drums. That way I can track if the drums are moving and how much.Over all a great start. I want them to work and they are close, but just not there yet.So close...

This is a fun set. Attaching foot pedals to shoes made me giggle. If you're like me and have never played virtual drums, you'll need a little practice to get the hang of these. I found remembering exactly where the air space is for each sound was difficult. I think of the sound as being in three columns and three rows. Trying to remember which sound was in which space and trying to coordinate movements with the foot pedals takes some coordination. Accept the challenges and pick up this set to try your hand at drumming. The sounds are surprisingly life-like. I think this set is very unique and fun, though I already know I'll never be a pro drummer! Recommended.

Doesn't work properly. The drums tend to wander off, it requires calibration every 5 seconds. It never hits the right drum or cymbal. It's completely inaccurate and would not waste your money on it.

The media could not be loaded. Ok before anything else. especially if you watched and listened to the video I posted, I am not, nor plan to, or ever will be a drummer, just so you know after the video LOLOk I said I thought these are really great and I do, these would be perfect for any kid that may think they want to play drums but not sure of their musical talent or real interest. Why? because they take up NO room, kids can use them without disturbing the peace in your house and get a feel for their real interest/ability for a small investment, and no storage/room space being taken up.In the box you get two plastic drum sticks, a small speaker. two small "foot pedals" a nice storage bag for the whole kit and kaboodle, a 3.5 audio adaptor to connect to a larger speaker or headphones and a double ended USB C Charging cord. The double ended cord allows you to charge both drum sticks at once or both foot pedals at once.Watch the video that is highlighted in the Item description for basic start up information, it really is pretty simple.I really believe that these are a great tool for an aspiring drummer, one that saves Parents money, storage and ear drums (LOL) and then you can decide if your aspiring drummer wants to move up to either pads or a real drum set, or not!
