Amazing Lens
I am a beginner photographer and was looking for a lens that wasn’t to expensive but was good quality! I have noticed a real difference in the quality and sharpness of the photos. The fit of the lens to the camera is amazing and the focus that it gives is amazing. It comes with a little drawstring bag which makes it very portable. Love this lens!

This is a great lens for cinematography
This is a great lens for cinematography, and manual photos. I highly recommended it for getting solid focus pulls, and smooth bokeh. I'll update if I run into any issues, or have anything additional to add. USE ON: - BlackMagic Production Camera 4K - Canon T2i PROS 1. Solid construction. This feels much stronger, and heavier than Canon's sub-$500 lenses. 2. Circular aperture results in great bokeh. Highlights and colors stay defined with a smooth blur. 3. Smooth and consistent focus pulls. 4. Lens Pedal locks securely. 5. Double-sided Aperture Readings 6. Nice details, like traction ridges for where you can hold onto the lens to lock/unlock it from the camera 7. Little breathing while focusing (on 5.6 between 1ft-6ft) CONS 1. A bit heavy...but that's to be expected for a 77mm Cine Lens. 2. Blurry wide open, but sharpens just after f/2

Less movement, the better! Unless, you're great at manual focusing.
Great lens for videography! Whatever is in focus is in focus, and everything else is blurred out, as expected from a cinema lens. The thing to keep in mind is that if you're doing moving shots, if you don't keep focus manually, the subject will go out of focus really quickly. If you have a ronin, it's almost impossible to hold the ronin and control the manual lens at the same time (your arms are going to die by the end). But if you're not planning on doing insane movement, this is an absolute great choice. As every reviewer says, it's a steal for the price.

my first "cine" lens
Love this lens for speed and focal range. The gear are nice and dampened for use with follow focus or just adjusting by hand.

The lens has has a lot of good stuff, but a cons as well I'll try ...
The lens has has a lot of good stuff, but a cons as well I'll try to make this straight forward Cons: (I actually really like this lens, but I figured I will get the bad stuff out first) IT IS NOT A TRUE MFT LENS - although not pictured, the lens actually has a built in MFT adaptor. The Rokinon cine series is built for APS-C sensors not, MFT. What is the difference? Just how a crop sensor only gets the center portion of the full frame view, the MFT sensor only gets the center portion of the Rokinon's light. To put it more simply, it is a really sharp lens on a APS-C sensor, but by adapting it to a smaller sensor, you basically crop the image and lose some sharpness. also, the MFT version is rather bulky, but does look and feel high end. CHROMATIC ABERRATION- This is a term a lot of people may not know, but it is important when purchasing a lens. Chromatic aberration is the amount of color fringing - you may see a video of a black object that appears to have slight green edges, when in reality, the edges are crisp - this is chromatic aberration. It happens because different colors of light travel at different speeds, and hit the sensor nano seconds apart. Chromatic aberration usually decreases at a higher F-stop, (or with a 5,000$ lens), the issue here, is the MFT sensor does not get a lot of light, so the lower f-stop is required. The fringing is really not awful, but it is not great either. THIS IS A TIGHT LENS - as many may know the crop factor on a MFT lens is 2x (if you are not familiar with crop factor, be sure to look it up) - so the 35 mm lens becomes a 70mm lens. This usually does not bother me too much, but it is very annoying when indoors, it allows usually only for medium shots (waist up). I think for MFT users, as a first or early lens, the 16mm is a better option, although it is slightly less sharp. Do not be fooled, 35mm sounds standard, but when 35mm becomes 70mm, The lens is almost a telephoto. NOT A PHOTOGRAPHY LENS - I do more film, but this is not the lens to snap a quick picture. there is no autofocus, or auto exposure. If you are looking at this lens, you probably are a videographer on a budget, but if you want an all around lens that is also good for pictures, this may not be the best investment. NOT WEATHER PROOF - although most some of the only true weather proof lenses are the olympus ones, I would not recommend using the Rokinon 35 in any wet conditions. PROS (finally!) SUPER SMOOTH FOCUS PULL - As a videographer, this is a huge plus for me, both the focus and aperture are so silky smooth, even after 6 months of heavy use. FULL SHARPNESS - Most lenses lose sharpness towards the edges, and this one does too, but not on MFT bodies. because the smaller sensor crops the image, the more blurry edges do not get shown, and although the sharpest parts of the picture are sharper on an APS-C sensor, the overall modulation transfer function is better. to put it simply, The image is pretty equally sharp across the frame. WIDE APERTURE - at T 1.5, this lens is great for MFT, letting both a lot of light in, and blurring the background. HOWEVER - this lens like most, does not reach full sharpness at 1.5, 2.8 is a little more ideal for a sharp shot. But I love the Bokeh, I cannot get enough. especially paired with the manual iris and focus, there is endless creative shooting options with Bokeh. SOLID - not a lot to say here, but the build quality is very good FINAL WORDS - if you are looking at this lens, Rokinon has huge sales at the end of the year, I picked this up for 350 bucks around christmas, so maybe wait a bit. also look at the panasonic 25mm, which is sharper, a true MFT lens, and smaller, over all I would recommend the Panasonic 25mm over the Rokinon 35mm. If you really want the Rokinon cine style (which I love) consider the 16mm as well, much more usable on a MFT body. If you want something weather proof, look into the olympus lenses. If you want a lens that works for video and photography in the same range, look at the Panasonic 25mm, or the 14-42 II. Although I had a lot of bad stuff to say about this lens that got very specific, I really love using it. It looks and feels very professional. You may not find information about chromatic aberration or modulation transfer function on other lenses, but that does not mean it does not exist, quite franklky, for the 500$ range, all lenses will have color fringing and not full sharpness. Last but not least, before you buy a lens, look at the used options on amazon and sites like keh photo

A quality smooth operating lens
This is a well made and smooth operating lens. One thing to note about these lenses is that the infinity focus is at the L shaped symbol on the lens just before the lens stop. If you turn the focus ring all the way to the lens stop, it is focused past infinity which will be a little out of focus. I don't know why these lenses are designed this way, and wouldn't have know about this if I hadn't read some other reviews about Rokinon lenses.

Great Value
Love it! I use it with my Panasonic GH3 and man does it produce a good looking picture. Only draw back is manuel focas but the more I use my camera for video the more I don't care. For the price this is a no brainer. I shot for my youtube channel and here is a video that uses this lense if you want to see what you get from this lens https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y8OgdKmWzI

Great video and photo lens
Goes great with my DS collection of lenses. Works just as expected. Not meant to be a photo lens but if you know how to work it photos come out beautiful.
