approximately how many gallons of water does it hold?

Approx. 300 gallons. We fill close to full for our 3 year old grandson but he wears lifevesr. I add one small Dixie cup chlorine about every 3-4 days and keep basin or bucket of water next to pool to dip feet in before getting in (Helps keep grass out) and to keep from changing water too often. What gauge vinyl is used in this pool? Some smaller pools are only 13 gauge. Is this one 16 gauge?

15 gauge. Very sturdy and heavy. I put a tarp under it for added protection on the bottom side.

What type of pump is necessary for inflation? How easy is it to set-up?

Super easy to set up. Just put a little h2o In bottom and move pool around till h2o settles in middle then you know it's level. As for inflating, I bought an electric pump that has several size caps, then you can inflate pool, floats, etc. don't remember where I got pump, but it was inexpensive.
