Lovely piece! It is a beautiful, substantial, and enjoyable product. It is a wonderful collection piece for me and it sits on my nightstand. It is heavy and durable and illuminates well. You just lift the lamp shade and put a nice size tea candle in it. I have a one inch candle and it fits perfectly.

I must have misunderstood the description because when it showed up (in a timely manner) it was way smaller than I expected. As I go back and re-read, it is pretty closely described as what we received.

Sits on an uneven base
It's a beautiful item but mine has an uneven base (akin to a see-saw effect) and this allows tea candles to "leak" over it's container and I end up needing to scrape away the way so it's clean for the next time I want to light a tea candle. I'll likely have to start using votives since I'm already having to clean up after it.

Neat Decorative Solution to Lack of Light
My friend needed a lamp after her old one broke. I saw this and without reading that it was a candle holder, not a lamp, I bought it. She's a big fan of candles, and though she doesn't currently have one that fits, it is still a nice tabletop decoration.
