Winsome Studio Wood Filing Cabinet, Honey (99428)

Very nice for the price and matches the Winsome Wood computer desk perfectly. Good quality, made of wood - not MDF/particle board. The side and back panels are very thin plywood with veneer. The back side IS finished so it does not have to go up against a wall. Not as easy to put together as some items but worth the effort. The filing cabinet has 3 drawers and one filing drawer. Note that the filing drawer does not have a bottom so you have to use it for hanging files. I'm still pleased with the purchase but I had intended to use the filing drawer for a mix of storing files and binders.

As expected. As others have noted the file drawer works only with hanging folders. Unless this file drawer is full, the files can flop around when you open and close the drawer. I put two binder clips on the rails (see photo) to keep the hanging files a little more neatly arranged. This can also help when the file labels catch, which can happen, as one other review indicated.

This Winsome Wood Honey Pine Filing Cabinet is sturdy and solid wood with a nice finish as described in the Amazon advertisement. Why I gave very poor ratings for assembly is the directions were very minimal with just pictures. None of the many pieces were numbered or lettered for ease of assembling. I have assembled a number of Ikea pieces of furniture over the years along with other pieces of furniture that required assembly. This was one of the more painful (time/patience to assemble) and but for a family member with more patience and provided much needed assistance, I would have packed it up and sent it back.

i LOVE this filing cabinet! it's SO functional. top 3 drawers are not as deep, so i use it to stash pens, notebooks, washi tape - bottom file drawer doesn't have a bottom when you slide it open but when you put legal sized hanging folders in - it's perfect. at first the drawers can be stiff but as you use it it gets easier. for the price though, i have to say it's pretty nice!!! would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to keep their office space more tidy and functional.

I love this and am using it in my Bathroom as an extra cab for my hair and make-up stuff. I used the four file hanging rods and drilled holes in either side of the bottom drawer before I put it together to use as a floor to the drawer since it had no bottom to the drawer and just put a box into the drawer to hold my hair dryer and curling irons. It's a great match to my vanity and I just changed the knobs out to match the pulls on my vanity. I would definitely recommend it. It was easy to put together--took me about an hour.

This cabinet is entirely too difficult and time consuming to put together. Will give it to someone skilled in this area or throw it out...

This is my second one in 20 years. Great, timeless piece of quality furniture.

Love this filing cabinet! Husband made a 7' desk over top, it's in the middle and very accessible for my office needs. Plenty of room for necessities. Definitely recommend.
