Calming ComfortWeighted Blanket by Sharper Image- A Heavy Blanket| 15 lb. 50" x 75", Grey

My doctor had recommended a weighted blanket so I have been needing and wanting to purchase one for both myself and my 8 yr old son. I have always been skeptical of them though and didn't want to waste money on a blanket that would end up in the basement unused. I searched a while until I found this blanket and company and decided to take the plunge! I am SO GLAD I did!Since using this blanket I have slept so much better. I used to be up EVERY HOUR and not be able to fall back asleep. Better sleep has given me more energy durning the day. Normally I have to take a few hour nap, shortly after waking up. Last week my kids had a week of snow days which means no nap for Mom, and I was able to handle it!I have a few chronic illnesses which cause lots of pain and discomfort and to my surprise, I haven't needed to take my pain medication in the middle of the night. This blanket feels like a huge hug all around your body. The fabric is so soft, it keeps you warm but not sweaty. I use the 10 lb blanket and its light enough for me to move around, yet heavy enough to keep me comfortable. My joints dislocate very easily but this has seemed to help keep my joints stabilized at night.I let my 9 yr old sleep with it one night and he slept ALL night, he suffers from ADHD, ODD and anxiety which leaves him not being able to fall asleep and stay asleep. Now we fight over the blanket! So looks like we will be purchasing another one soon!Plus the gray color matches our bedding and bedroom so that is another plus.I would definitely recommend this blanket to everyone. Totally worth the money. It has held up well with my kids and dogs.

These blankets are not cheap!A problem to wash without industrial masher machines but are nice to sleep with

I have some pretty intense anxiety and have wanted a weighted blanket for a long time but had a hard time justifying spending so much on myself. I am so glad I did! This blanket is wonderful, it is generously sized and while I am not in the suggested weight range, (this blanket is heavier than is recommended for my size) I adore it. I am markedly calmer when I sleep or sit with it while reading and I can definitely alter any panicky moments by just using the blanket. My only concern is the durability. The blanket is very heavy and I'm not sure that the fabric or thread used can handle such weight over time. I reached out to the customer service for this company concerning this issue and they were very quick to resolve my issue but sadly I am seeing a bit of wear on the blanket again despite only having it for a short time. If you are gentle with the blanket, it should be fine, but you do need to take care while moving it so as not to cause more strain on the fabric. Overall it is a great item and very helpful to me, so I would definitely recommend it.

My husband loves this blanket and says it doesn’t make him sweat. I have noticed that he doesn’t toss and turn as much.

I was drawn to buy this style blanket because of my fondness over Sharper Image products. So I bought this blanket for my wife because she was always putting extra blankets on or near her feet so she could have the weight of them on her lower body to help her sleep. Once this blanket arrived, and she put in on the bed, she was in heaven. It feels very soft, and the beads do not detract from how good it looks or feels on the body. She says it feels like she's getting a constant hug, and it keeps her comforted and really relaxed during the night. It doesn't generate heat in the bed so I don't get hot or uncomfortable on my side, and she is not kicking it off when she has her flashes during the night. Not really a "down side" but every now and again you have to spread the blanket and toss it around to spread the beads evenly in their pouches. Not a big deal, but well worth it. This is probably the best gift I could have gotten for her. Happy Wife, Happy Life!

I have struggled with insomnia and anxiety for a long time. Some nights it takes me hours to fall asleep. I had heard a lot of great things about weighted blankets. The larger weight on this one was perfect for me, as was the size of the blanket. I decided to try it at bedtime. The softness of the blanket might be my favorite part. I just wanted to pet it at night which was quite comforting. My normal 2 hours to fall asleep only took 20 minutes! It was amazing. The only negative to having it on in bed was that rolling over was quite difficult. It was like a giant hug and I slept better than I had in a very long time. I love it while in the couch, it helps me feel more centered, and I can see where it has definitely aided in dulling my anxiety.Pros for me: the weight and size of the blanket was perfect, the soft feel of the blanket, and the positive effect it had on both my insomnia and anxiety.Cons: hard to roll over while sleeping with it on, the beads that fill the blanket are noisy when being moved about.I am beyond satisfied with my purchase and definitely plan to purchase more for family members in the future.

the comforter cover was met with a medicine stain so I knew it was washable, so I decided to take it off to wash it. when I took it off there was all these beads inside the cover. I tried to figure out where the heck they came from until I turned the blanket over and was met by a bunch of small beads. Apparently, they had come out of the blanket !! I thought I could repair it, then I realized that I had just paid $80 for this blanket that was loosing its marbles .Maybe I could return it or get my $$ back but I really like the blanket .maybe they could send me one for 1/2 price

Yo tuve el error de no fijarme en las medidas y resultó que la cobija era muy chica para mi, no obstante eso, como quiera la usé varias semanas. No diría que es una cobija irremplazable o incomparable. Si es muy buena pero en mi opinión, es demasiado cara. Si tuviera un 1/3 de su precio, lo recomendaría a todo mundo.
