8 GB RAM i5 Excellent Laptop
When I read this reviews before I purchased the product, I almost didn't buy it bc a reviewer said that it only has 4 GB RAM. I ordered it anyway bc I had no reason to believe the person knew what they were talking about. The first thing I checked when the computer arrived, after I set it up, was the RAM. It does have 8 GB RAM, so that reviewer did not know what they were talking about. The setup was easy. The computer runs well and is quiet. I was impressed with its speed. It does perform as I would expect, better even. It is comparable to a new i5, even though it is renewed. I would recommend a cooling pad. I always use a cooling pad for all laptops, as heat is damaging for them. The heat is to be expected with the laptop, as it is 12 inches which leaves less room for space between the components, compared to larger laptops. It also has a very good processor (i5), which generates heat.

1yr. Of My Experience as an Engineering Tech Student
HEADS UP![Donât worry if it says Windows 10 Pro is not activated. 3 minute video solved it for me: https://youtu.be/-wM_a74F56s ]Had this baby for a year as an Engineering Tech Student and have a to do list for you.1. Activate (stated above)2. Turn on TurboBoost (5 clicks)3. Add RAM (optional/recommended)4. Make sure it can breathe5. Put in High Performance Mode (3 clicks)I love 70% of this computer đPros:-Speedy Intel i5 5300u processor(Limited Edition đ Old-School Broadwell Processor that is discontinued for newer slower chips. Faster than some base-model Surface computers on standard settings like Surface Go, Surface Pro 3/4, & base-level 2018 Surface laptop) Iâve walked in Microsoft stores and ran tests for fun đ-Reliable as heck(Has splash drains under laptop for spills on the keyboard âšïž. Iâve never tried them but looks legit)-Compact/Professional Look & Feel(Small tool that can do ALMOST anything)-Ports. Never dongle again-Bluetooth-Hotspot Capable & WiFi Sharing(If you unscrew it, there is a spot for you to add your own computer SIM so you can use a mobile carrier anywhere. Usually this is reserved for high-end computers because this thing used to be.)-Has a CARD READER built-in đ€Ż(Perfect if you run a business and donât have a square reader. This means your laptop could even accept Apple/Google/Samsung Pay)-Very glare resistant screen(Matte screen makes it pretty good to look at outside since there are no reflections)-Charges quickly(Fastest charging laptop Iâve personally owned. Not a monster in comparison to premium devices, but is no slouch)-Fan(Quiet enough for lectures without being noticed, but not 100% silent. Donât worry about fan noise unless youâre running really intense programs. Word and chrome are not intense lol)-Keyboard(Gets bright, hugs the fingers, reliable, smaller form factor is good for college lectures.)-When it stars up it sounds like a tiny jet âïž(Only lasts 2-5 seconds. I just think the fan sound is pretty cool đ)Cons:-Display is narrow & not super color accurate.(The screen is not pretty. Low version of HD and has color shift when you tilt it or turn it. But there are worse Iâve seen)-Max Brightness Too Low đ€·đŸââïž-Min Brightness Too High đ€·đŸââïž(Not by a lot though. Itâs NOT bad. To me, itâs just a pet peeve because I wish I could go a little higher in direct sunlight and lower in a pitch-black room)-No touchscreen đ-Small trackpad đ-Really hot on top left đ„(wear pants or use a table because the processor is all work and no play. Enough to make me question why. DO NOT leave this awake in your backpack unless you want your water bottle to cook ramen đ âšïžđ„”. A couple times I was in a rush and forgot to put it to sleep and opened up my backpack to a screaming fan, almost dead battery, and a bag that felt like a car in Summer. It felt like a fire hazard & like my bag was bound to have a meltdown. Itâs my fault because I choked it out and left it in high performance mode with no air. BUT, if you press the sleep button before storing it, this will NEVER happen and almost all your battery will be ready for you đ So be responsible đ€·đŸââïž)-Big-ish bezels đ(Your friends are never gonna think youâre using something as good as a MacBook even though its kinda comparable on a spec sheet)-NOT designed for gaming.(Even though this meets every minimum system requirement for every basic game, donât get this for gaming. The integrated graphics card is PERFECT for productivity, but not gaming. Sadly, none of the bus ports are fast enough to hook up externally to a graphics card either. So, video rendering suffers a little. 3D printing works fine though.)-Battery Life is up to you: Pro/Con(Want 9 hrs on a single charge? Low power mode and battery saver. Low brightness. Want 1.2 hours of peak performance? High performance mode, overclock, never sleep, full brightness, 20 chrome tabs, CADD in the background and all windows animations active along with an android emulator. Conclusion:Bang for buck, this is AMAZING. Even though a better screen, bigger trackpad, & a thunderbolt port would be nice, thatâs ALL I can say bad about it. This OUTPERFORMS many computers that are hundreds more dollars and has features many forgot about. This machine is my daily driver and Iâm pretty happy with it. If you do have $600-$700 to dish though, there are faster computers. But for this price, this thing does more than most desktops of a similar price.

RefurbishedCpul
I could swear that most of the keyboard had been replaced with new keys. Both ram and msata 256gb were replaced with high quality brands like Samsung. Otherwise, the case is just spotless with a very small paint scratch on the bottom of the laptop. Computer starts up and and gets into WIN 10 with no issues which is the high point. Pressing the F12 key during boot enables entry into the bios to make changes or set up boot changes using linux or other operating system. Simply everything just works like a new computer. Login into windows does not even requires using your MS account or setting up a new one. Just hit the on button and you are in ready to go.

SHORT-CIRCUITED WITHIN 6 MONTHS: DO NOT BUY
Bought this laptop in August 2022. Worked fine until last week, middle of January 2023. I was writing an email when the laptop completely shut off while plugged in. The charger (which has an led light on it) turns off when plugged in, indicating that the laptop short-circuited. I opened the laptop to find a disgusting amount of food crumbs and random grime within. DO NOT BUY. This isn't a renewed laptop, it's just a used laptop that some tech did a hard-reset on and then dumped back onto the market. What's even worse is that the warranty that comes with the laptop expires after 90 days, which is just out of range so I can't even get this replaced, refunded, or repaired. If you're looking for a cheap laptop that can perform, you're taking a risk buying this. You can either spend 50-100 bucks more for something that WON'T break down after 5 months of light usage or you can risk your money (like I unknowingly did) and gamble on whether or not this thing breaks down past the 90 day warranty.
